Another friggin' gasoline question

For you more knowledgeable guys out there:

Do you think higher octane gas would be better for constant city driving? My wife drives the Armada Mon-Fri to work (only 2 miles one way) so it's pretty much mostly city. I filled up with super this time and am still waiting on gas mileage results. Mainly I'm curious if the higher octane is better for the engine since it only sees the highway on weekends.

I dont know how true this is with the Nissans, but the Accord would not see any real benefits or deficits until at least 1 full tank of gas. Like I said, I don't know what the deal is with the Nissans.

The general ruling is that no gas will HURT the titan or HELP to keep its condition, only that the ECU can advance the timing to give you some more oomph (still unproven...but I know for a fact it works with the Hondas). Therefore, if you want to switch for "life of your engine" there is no reason to do so. If you want to switch for more power, then the jury is still out (as far as I am concerned).

2 mile trips is what will kill your car faster than anything else you do.

I am running 93 octane in my Titan to test the mileage, so far, I have not seen any improvement over regular.

Remember this also....

While you might see an improvement with a higher octane, the improvement in mpg will most likely be negated by the higher cost of that fuel. Sounds like it'd be a wash at best to me.
