Are Lsii

Finally got my LSII installed. I had to do the vanity thing and get the sport wing, I'm not sure that it's worth the extra 300 bucks but it's there. Next are the Step bars and some Bushwackers.

Does the wing help you fly faster?

I like the cover but just not feeling the wing but if your happy with it that's all that matters.

I'm not exactly sold on it either. When I first ordered the cover I said no but then came back and added it. I was told I had to get it with the shell and could not buy it later. If it really starts to bug me it's gone.

But then again when I see a truck with those 22 or 24 inch wheels and tires that look like big rubberbands I want to puke.

Yeah! How Much?

My local dealer wanted $995 for the plain LSII. Install of the lock would have been another $80 I think. Expensive, I know. But they have a chain of stores in the area and are the only dealer around. This monopoly is pissing me off.

I got it at a local (San Diego, CA) Leer dealer. They're not cheap, the tonneau alone was 819 and the addition of the sport wing was another 300. ARE has a special where they included the remote keyless entry but that raised the install cost from 50 to 100. The total came to $1348.00 with tax and install and I had to wait 2 weeks for delivery. The color match is perfect. It came with a bottle of touch up paint and 2 keys. My only gripe are I found on the foreward right side a small spot where it had rubbed the paint against something red but the touch up fixed that. My other gripe is the keyless installation, I kept asking the guys doing the wirre splicing if the had the correct wire because I wanted it connected to the passenger door. Well they insisted the knew over and over and I explained over and over about the two key fob presses opens the passenger door. They hooked it up to the driver door and all they could say was sorry, thats the way the factory said to connect it. After using it for a while now I really prefer it to the driver door because I usually have my hands full of boat tools or fishing gear and just prefer it that way.

Leer has a tonneau that is identical to it that's $100.00 less that includes carpet covering on the inside. I specifically got mine without the covering because I'm going to glass in fishing rod holders onto it. Also I have the utilitac with the bed extender and divider, with the tonneau on the bed divider can't slide all the way foreward but will slide however the bed extender is basically unable to slide anywhere but out because of the clamps that hold down the lid which for me is cool because I can still flip it over and use it as intended and when flipped back inside the bed is perfect for keeping my ice chest from sliding around.

I heard people on this board saying they paid $700.00 installed. I emailed ARE and asked about buying directly from them and they only sell to distributors but they said that all dealers should be selling at the authorized price of $819.00 plus install, usually 50 bucks for that. That is for just a painted tonneau, the carpet covering on the inside is another 100 bucks. With tax thats close to the 995 you were quoted. Look for a leer dealer and look at theirs, they should be real close to 800 installed and look identical.

The wing doesn't really appeal to me, but to each his own. Who knows, if you decide to lower your Titan, then it will probably fit right in with the scheme. Nevertheless, if you decide you dont like it, I'm sure that there is someone on this board who would buy it from you. Thats the thing with enthusiast vehicle owners, each one has their own peculiar tastes and what works for them and that is most important compared to what others think (though that is part of the goal as well).

If you like it, keep it. Maybe compliment it with 22" chrome wheels, lowered suspension, and custom paint.
