Remote Start install

Had Circuit City install the CA-535 remote start.. Very easy install and it works great with 1000ft range. Works with factory security system just fine with no issues.

Go easy on me for asking this, but I've lived in So Cal pretty much since I can remember where earthquakes are more of a concern then snow or heat waves. Is the remote starter basically an attraction to you guys because you can start your truck and warm it up prior to stepping out into freezing weather or run the A/C ahead of time on a hot day. I personally find the remote window down feature handy to release any heat out of the cab.

My understanding is that it (remote start) won't work on an LE, right???
You need the key in the ignition or something....

I'd love to install a remote install, but leaving the key in the ignition overnight just doesn't sound like a smart idea...

This was my question also, Don't you have to install the remote start with the valet key to get it to work?

No they take a key, maybe your valet key if you choose, Then you place it in a black box (VATS Bypass) and wire it into your ignition switch so when you press the button on your key fob, it sends a signal to the ignition that the key chip is present, and it will start. BTW I do them for $200 installed.

Can you use it with the stock key fob? Or does the fob it come with work with the stock system?

Remote Start

I have a starter with a timer from a company called Astrostart. I don't know
if they have them where you guys are at because they are based in Canada.
Mine works great, and you do have to use your valet key for it to work.
The key is conceled and you don't have to worry about theft. Also the the
keyfob is replaced with an Astrostart unit.

Service manager told me that with remote starters, you have a 50/50 shot of it making your car eventually not start at all....when I questioned him on it he never really told me why. I told him that My past 2 cars have had it without ANY Problems at all and he said I was lucky. He also said that Nissans were really bad for this. This is the same guy who said I should only use premium fuel and has never heard of any problems at all with any Titan...then again, I don't think they sell very many since I have only seen 2 others on the road up here once.
