On Board!

Picked up my new Smoke Titan Crew Cab 4x4 on Friday. I went with the Big Tow, Off Road and Rockford Fosgate system. Info on this board did influence my decision to go with the Titan over the less expensive Dodge and so far, so good. FYI, my deal was $100 over invoice and 2% financing so it was nothing spectacular but fair enough I suppose.

Some observations:

I'm suprised at how easily the smoke paint scratches! I love the color but I'm thinking I should have gone with silver or white. Hopefully these will wax out a bit. Live and learn, I guess.

The tailgate latch on the driver's side does not actually latch. Need to get it adjusted.

Tuning knob on radio has a rub mark on it that removed the finish. Need to get it replaced.

I didn't like how the Big Tow mirrors looked, still don't actually - too big and clunky so I was leaning towards not getting this package and just adding a hitch. After a few hundred miles, I love these mirrors. The convex bottoms are great. They are very useful and I haven't even towed yet.

I'm well past my big stereo days and the RF system seems like a bit of overkill at this point. I think it sounds great at normal listening levels though.

Haven't taken it off road yet but I like the look of the wheels and tires on the Off Road package. I'm know it's capability is way beyond what I'll be willing to put my $30K truck through.

Anyway, I'm happy with my decision and thanks for the info.

Welcome, it took me a while to get used to using the towing mirrors too. I still worry someone is going to walk into them in a parking lot or some bus is going to drive by too close and shave one of them off.

Wow, Deja VU.

Just like my Titan, and yes scratches damn easy. Don't think it's the color, just the quality of their paint job. Also had a problem with that compartment closing. Funny thing is, just picked it up from the dealer, and their answer was that Nissan knows it hard to close, but they did that to make it waterproof.

Loosely translated, that infers they did nothing. However, upon getting home, I've tried it dozens of times, and it closes easily and on the first try.

Especially if they're closer than they actually appear...
