Chevy Colorado rental.

While my trucks in the shop i got a Chevy Colorado quadcab. As much as i hate chevy's i have to be honest. Its not that bad of a truck. Huge amount of room inside cab. Its no hemi on power for sure, but auto trans is setup to help it accelate good. I will give a full review with spec's after a week of driving it. It only has 865 miles on it. Only thing i noticed so far is a weird vibration while braking. It dont feel like rotors either. feels like abs, but under light braking. So far i only can say not a bad truck. except for that ugly chevy emblem i have to stare at on the steering wheel. LOL

Yeah, I sat in one a guy at work bought and it was OK. Just a liitle small after driving around in the Titan. I think if most people drove the competition, the driving experience would seem more alike than different.

My neighbor has one and it is a nice roomy midsize truck. His is an extended cab with the 5 cylinders. He seems to like it but it's only a commuter/weekend toy. I heard Chevy might go back to a 6 cylinder for next year's model.

Lol, this is what I traded in for the Titan, not a bad commute, street truck, but not at all good for offroad. Lacks the ground clearance, and for the z-71 package you get the offroad tough plastic skid plates, they were a joke. The interior was far lacking to in comparison to the Titan too, imo. Good combination of horsepower and gas mileage for what it is, but think it lacked torque. Was lucky to unload it at 3500 miles and 6 months use though and not loose a penny, (think the no blue book value or data yet helped - plus that pricey sticker price which I didn't pay). It is still on the dealers lot that I traded it in on the Titan. Chevy could do itself a favor and listen to these boards and take some cues from the competition. It did integrate the xm sattelite radio better though, and for not as nearly as much (hint Nissan). Glad me and my titan are parking here now!

Welcome valiant! My neighbor has the Z-71 package and I'm going to point out that Glad Wrap skid plate to him. He probably thinks it's metal.

I concure. The wheel wells look like crap. Wheels are round, tires are round, why aren't the wheel wells round? Stupid chebby.

I looked inside one. Typical chebby: boring and old, even with a "new" truck. Better than the S10, but this truck only puts chebby up to date with the competition from the year 2000. A new vehicle ought to LEAD the competition, not CATCH UP to the competition.

The new Frontier will own...

Loosen up the bowtie. But seriously, my neighbor and I get along just fine and don't bash each other's rides. He likes his, I like mine. He respects mine, I respect his. I have a full understanding that variety is the spice of life. Even you have to admit that metal to protect the underside is better than plastic.

I once owned a new '94 top of the line S-10 V6 4x4 Extended Cab, it was the worst vehicle I have ever owned. I sold it before the warranty ran out and bought my '95 Nissan 4x4 XE-V6 KC. Because I had so many problems with the S-10 I just look at the Colorado and wonder...

Loosen up everyone. I only made this post to provide info after my rental period i will have a full review. after 3days i have seen some bad things, but also some good things. I am taking notice of fullsize against midsized. I dont think i will be putting a ton top soil in it like i do my ram 1500. That would crush it. My view will be honest to my opinion exactly like magazines i would suppose. I will not bash it for being a chevy although i never liked them. This is coming from probably the first Hemi owner to ever come to this board, and i had to fight for my right to be here although i was nice. I would never give a bad review of a truck unless i felt it was bad. This can be verifified with californiatitan easily. True Review coming soon.

Here's my .02

Before I realized I needed a full size truck, I was looking at mid sized trucks. Where I use to live we have no Nissan or Toyota dealer. So my step-dad, being the hard core GM guy he is, insisted we go test drive one, so we did...

It ran REALLY good in my opinion, it was pretty quick, we test drove the ex-cab 4X4 5cyl. However, the inside was terrible, the dash and the center stack looked like they came out of an early haundai(sp?). Maybe they wanted it to look hard edged and edgy, but I thought it looked cheap very cheap for the price tag in the mid $20's. I left laughing, then we went over to the dodge lot to test drive a used Taco (Tacoma) and it was worlds better than that POS chevy...

Funny, my step-dad is so insistant on me getting a Titan now. He finally leaked to me the other day that he wants me to try it out first before he trades in is `02 GMC 2500 496 big block with the allison transmission(that he's had a lot of trouble with)...

Also funny, or not, but my future Father in law is in love with the titan too, he's seriously thinking about trading in the Family Truckster (`03 Suburban) for a Crew Cab titan...
