Metallic clank from suspension when topping out over bumps

Didn't post this in the problem forum because this may be normal. I don't know. Anyway, I noticed this first when I went over some RR tracks at a crossing where the road raises up abruptly to meet the tracks then back down. In fact if you were going any speed over 30 you'd probably be airborn. Anyway I went over and when the suspension extended (possibly topped out) I heard this awful loud clank noise towards the rear of the truck. Heard it again when I went over a speed bump tonight in a parking lot. Always does it while the shocks rebound, NOT during compression. Is this just a trait of leaf spring suspension? I'm worried because it's LOUD, I mean, my girlfriend thought we hit something, when in reality we just went over a tiny speed bump at 5mph!
BTW it's a Titan Crew SE 4x4 Big Tow with 4000 miles. No other problems to date.

Check your spare tire, it might not be cranked up all the way.

Check the bolts on the shock anchors, one may be loose.

Haha. I heard this also going over speedbumps at work. It's the tongue moving in the hitch. I went back there, grabbed it with my hand and moved it around. It was the exact noise I heard in my truck. Just for piece of mind I pulled the tongue out and stored it in the cab. When I went back over the speedbumps the noise was gone.

I'll check those bolts. I don't have anything in the hitch receiver so I know it's not that.

I do but it wasn't on. To double check I removed everything from the truck that wasn't bolted down, including my tiedowns in the rear lock box. The sound is more "heavy" sounding than the bed extender and seems to be coming from under the truck.
