Exclamation Popping out of 4wd

Ok, me and my uncle were having fun in with the titan and off-roading it along with my F-150. We were going up a really steep hill with loose rocks and my uncle and the titan was in front of me with about 20 or so feet between us. I dont know what gear he was in but i'm sure he was in lowrange 2nd gear like i was. (He has the locker package too) Anyways the truck suddenly slipped into nuetral and started rolling back toward me. He hit the brakes but they just slid on the loose rocks. I was thinkin "Oh sh!t" and he hit me going like 5-10 mph. It dented my bumper and slightly bent the right side of it and it badly bent the titans bumper and put a dent in the tailgate (but did not damage the bed itself) Anyways, after we got the titan up the hill we tried to get it to do it again. (but not on a hill) and it drove normal. He is going to take it to the dealer to see what they say and to get the bumper and tailgate fixed. So my question is, has anyones titan popped out of gear in 4wd and on a steep hill?

No, no pictures of the damage, but he took the truck to the dealler Monday night and he said that they dropped the transfer case and found it to be damaged so they are going to replace it. they have already replaced the rear bumper, but they are waiting on the tailgate. He also said they were going to send the T-case back to nissan so they can see what happened to it.

Does that mean they may cover the damage itself since it was a failed part?

Yes, becuase the truck rolled back into mine as a direct result of the t-case slipping into nuetral.
