it was just under 20K when I did it. I'm glad I did it but it really wasn't needed. Sure there was a little metal on the magnets, but other than that everything was perfectly clean. The screen, fluid, etc. etc. all looked brand new, which is a miracle the way I drive it..

A service rep at a dealership was trying to convince me not to do this myself... he rambled off the procedure but I don't remember all of it, made it sound VERY involved and messy, although it doesn't look that way at all.

Looks like from your pics you just have to drain the pain (pull plug), remove the pan, clean the metal shavings out of the pan, check/clean the screen, and replace the pan to refill...

Any gasket/sealant needed, or is the OEM gasket reusable? Also, is there any other fluid hiding somewhere else in a filter or something? Thanks.

I have to admit I've really be dragging my feet on this topic, even though I did it several weeks ago. I don't like to write about something I did until I get a feel for it and know that there won't be any follow up problems. I hope this explains my vagueness with this topic.

I'll tell you what, I'll write something and post about the whole process tomorrow. I guess I've waited long enough (a couple of weeks) and so far there have been no problems and it really was easy.....Tomorrow...Today is my son's b-day and we're headed out for lots of sugar and FUN!!!
