Apparently they saw something they wanted in your Titan - sucks to have happened. Unfortunately it can happen to anyone - should have gone to a glass company, not the dealer. That's who the dealer is gonna goto - whoever they have a contract with. They won't actually do the work themselves.

Sorry to hear about anyone getting broken into. I know how you feel as I'd had my titan 3 days before someone looted mine. maybe he cut his own throat with the broken glass!! Wishful thinking!

Four years ago, my brand new Silverado was parked out on the street. Went out to find the driver side window broken. Turns out some vandals went on a spree and used pellet guns to shoot out windows, doing $30,000 damage throughout the neighborhood.

And then, I got a call from the Sheriff's office that one of them got turned by his own parents, and he turned in his accomplices, and they were all in big trouble. It went to court. The prosecutors asked the victims for statements about how this crime impacted us. The judge ordered restitution and probation, but they got off light.

Highschool. Dude with a bat went out smacking mailboxes with friends. Had his head out the window and wasn't paying attention. Hit a brick mailbox at 35 mph. I never really liked him.

Parents' neighborhood mostly had junior high hood ornament thieves. Had one hit and run that took out a side mirror.

In the old neighborhood, somebody shot out the driver's side window with what my dad thought was a .22 Havn't been back there in awhile, although it's gone even more downhill Some people who lived there said you could hear gunfire at night. Too bad.

The numbnuts around here like to shoot out windows, so its hard to keep things looking nice. We have to park our trucks, Titan and Suburban, in the garage because they are big targets. Last year they shot out my old Dodge Ram's rear window and the windows of my neighbor's Blazer. As for the Titan, I had it for 1 night and there were eggshells on the ground by the rear wheels. Lucky for me they missed.

It pisses me off that people have no respect for other people's property. The damage to the car usually costs more then replacing the stolen items. My Maxima was recently broken into. I lent it to my brother, and he took it to the movie theater where he works. It was parked in front of the box office. A couple punks broke the window with a prybar, and took CD's and the faceplate to the stereo. My brother heard the alarm and came out to check on it, but they were gone. The sad thing is that it was a busy night, and there were about THIRTY people in line that witnessed it. And there was a police car on the other side of the building. Yet they got away.

Now what the hell are you going to do with a face plate? What an idiot... Most high end decks, the faceplates are NOT interchangable.

TheRedfishCo, what was stolen from your truck? Was that $58 window for the quarter glass on the KC or do you have a CC model?

If you have KC you will need special tools and sealant to replace the back window. The CC is alot easier, pull the panel and remove the glass from the track/replace.
Either way, $58 is pretty darn cheap.

Only if you have the solid back window. Any of the slider KC's the same window in track arrangement as the CC's.

Read the FIRST post of this thread again..

He said it was the rear passenger side window, not the rear (above the bed) window. There are no "slider" windows on the rear passenger doors of a KC. That rear window over the bed is probably more like $300, not $58.

Well not to get snippy like your post, but I responded to your post that said back window (not rear side window). I thought you had changed the subject .

Have a good one...

After reading this, and another thread about the Nissan Security System I went out to test mine. With the drivers window down, and either locked with the key or the key fob, you can reach in and open the door with the door handle, or by pushing the door lock button and then opening the door
AND THE ALARM DOESN'T GO OFF!!! WHAT GOOD IS THIS SYSTEM???

On my last vehicle, a 2001 Isuzu Trooper, if you did any of that you'd be listening to a screaming horn.

I'm going to read my Owners Manual to see what it says this system SHOULD do. Right now I feel a lot less secure, and will quit leaving valuables in my Titan.

I know what you're going through. My Tahoe has been attacked by society's cesspool rejects twice in the past two years - the first time some washed up drunk through a empty whisky bottle and destroyed one of windows on my rear door (two doors in the rear) $450 out of pocket - had to wait a week to get that fixed. Then on Halloween, someone decided they needed in my locked truck, so they broke the door handle ($150). But the worst thing was there was nothing to get stolen! Of course the police could do nothing about it - they couldn't lift any prints. They think it was local teenagers. Heaven help me if I did that when I was that age. My Dad would have kicked my butt.
