Well got the Titan last night and bought the alarm the dealer had installed. They said the key fobs that came with it activate/deactivate it. Last night when I clicked the lock button, the horn sounded briefly. I assumed this indicates it was activated. This morning ---- 7 AM ---- I pressed the unlock button and heard the driver door unlock. I opened the door and off goes the alarm (that horn is LOUD). I could not get it to shut off no matter what buttons I pushed on the fob. Anybody have any ideas on what I can do? This is my first alarm I ever had in a vehicle. I tried to disconned the horn, but it seems to be in the grill area under the bash plate. If I could get it not to make noise for the moment, I would be happy. Also how do you open the hood on these? I couldn't find the release under the dash. I was so frazzled by the alarm going off I forgot to get the owner's manual.

Sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm and it is not installed properly.
In that case, try holding down the buttons, one at a time.
What alarm/model do you have? If its a DEI (viper, cobra, any Avitol model, etc) then hold down the "panic" button for several seconds. Usually the unlock button disarms the alarm on MOST alarms and as soon as the doors are unlocked by the alarm fob, it obviously should no longer be armed.
You will need to call the dealer to make an appointment so that the alarm guy will be there when you bring the truck back. They will need to correct the wiring / programming issue.
Maybe you have to hit the unlock button TWICE to get all the doors unlocked and to completely disarm the alarm, although this would be an UNUSUAL alarm operation as far as I am concerned.
I think its a confusion between the OEM alarm and the aftermarket. I think the OEM is not getting shut off and when you open the door it sets it off. Putting the key in the door shuts off the OEM alarm if that is the case. A long time ago I put an alarm in my wifes 240sx and the next morning I get a call at work she can't shut off the alarm the car won't start etc. The key thing worked and then I called Crutchfield and I had to cut or ground a wire that went to the door locks to seperated the OEM from the aftermarket.

That is what I think. I pressed the unlock on the fob and heard the door unlock. I opened the door and the alarm went off. No matter what button combination I pushed on the fob, the alarm wouldn't go off.
I am going to try the key in the door and then go somewhere "remote" and see if I have other issues with the alarm.
