07 Titan Price

Went to dealer today to look at Crew Cab. I got a trade in value on my 06 SE, KC, 4wd, Texas Edition with 9200 miles of $20,500. This was before I got a price on a new one I'm thinking he should give me $22,500??

Found an 07, SE, CC, 2wd with only 1 option. The SE popular. Sticker price was $30435. Dealer said he'd sell it to me for $27,000. I'm thinking no more than $25,500??

What do you guys think? I think he should at least lube me up.... Only reason I'm trading is for the CC option and I've never used my 4wd.

Thank you.

Re: 07 Titan Price

I always try not to pay more than nada trade in value for a previous model year (2006) truck that has 12000 miles. It's kind of an odd formula but it's worked for me so far. If you don't pay more than that, you will make out Ok on your next trade in and not be upside down.

Re: 07 Titan Price

My KBB trade in value is $23,100 excellent, $ 21,800 good, $ 19,600 fair. I figured me wanting $22,500 was within reason. This was right before they closed. I'm sure I'll get a call tomorrow.

Re: 07 Titan Price

I guess I should rephrase. the total price of the vehicle you are buying (2007) after all the haggling on your trade in value and the price of the new truck, should not exceed the KBB trade in value price of the previous model year truck (2006). For example, if I were going to buy an 07 SE I would not want to pay more than 22,275.00 (the price of an 06 SE with 12000 mi in excellent condition)and anything more is how upside down I will be in the new vehicle. I hope this is not too confusing and I hope you get a great deal.

Case in point, not a bad deal considering an 06 trade in with the previous formula was KBB priced at 24,350.00. Only 1650.00 off the mark. Is this making any sense to you?

Re: 07 Titan Price

$27,594 <- invoice minus $3k rebate = $24,594 and don't pay a penny more. Way to many dealers will sell to you for dealer invoice.

Re: 07 Titan Price

I traded in my 06 SE, CC, Texas Edition with 15000 miles and got $22,500 trade in value. I traded the 06 for an 07 Texas Edition with similar specs to my 06 that had an msrp of 33200 and I got it for $26,000. You should be able to do alot better than that and I did this back in March.

Re: 07 Titan Price

Definitely wouldn't pay 27k for the 07. I got my 07 for that and it's an LE everything else is the same. They should be able to come way off that. Especially with the 08's on the lot now.

Re: 07 Titan Price

According to Edmunds.com, invoice for that truck is $27,594 so $27,000 does not seem too bad. Subtract the $3,000 rebate and you are at $24,000.

At $20,500 on a trade, you will only be paying tax on $3,500 ($219 state tax) and a nominal amount for inventory tax. $200 or so for other fees and you are at $4,000 + your payoff on the drive out for the new truck. If you are not upside down at $20,500 your worst case zero money down loan is $24,500.

I just bought a '07 LE last week for invoice less the rebate and was happy with that. You seem to be getting a better deal on the selling price of your truck than I did .

I guess the decision should be based on what you think is a good trade for your existing truck. Bear in mind you are also saving $1281 in taxes if you were doing a cash deal with no trade. If you think you can sell your truck for more than $21,781 you are ahead of the game, if not trade and try and negotiate a little more if you can.

You also need to figure in what you owe on the truck. Being a year old, I imagine you are upside down a bit depending on what you put down.

HTH and Good luck.

Re: 07 Titan Price

My trade in value as of yesterday was $16,800 on my 06 KC with 10,500 miles. After I showed them the invoices from the collision repairs they came back and told me the value was $13,200!

Re: 07 Titan Price

Thank you all. I'm sticking to my guns on this one. The new one for no more than $25,500 and my trade in no less than $22,500. That is the Nada trade in value as of yesterday on my 06. If they don't deal. That's ok. My 06 is already a badmfer. I just would like to have the 4 doors.

Re: 07 Titan Price

So you want them to sell you the truck for $2,000 below invoice and then give you the rebate on top of that?

So what you are really saying is you want a '07 CC (newer and better) for the same price you are willing to lets your '06 KC go as a trade.

I hope you enjoy your KC because I can't see them doing that. Hopefully, for your sake, they get desparate, have a brain fart, and do the deal. I doubt it though.

Good luck.

Re: 07 Titan Price

Man...I don't know where you guys are shopping. I went to nada.com and kbb.com built the truck with the options, got the invoice cost and went to the dealer with my guns loaded. I received $2,000 cash back and we negotiated a few options and a little "hold back" money. They showed me their invoice on the truck and it was almost identical to mine.

I had this in my hand (PM me for the url.... ) http://www.nadaguides.com/NewCar/Bui...-36-5010-0-0-0

When all was said and done...Taxes tags title etc...I had the truck for 31.5k out the door with some extra options( extra cleats, box divider, fogs, deflector, extra wiring harness, tow ball and some oil changes)

I can't figure out who's selling these truck for 25k.... that can't be right unless they're stripped.
