Motor Trend Long Term Update

Motor Trend is doing as one year test update on the Titan. They took 4x2 SE CC w/off road and big tow packages as their test subject. I wonder if they got a pre- June vehicle with all of the problems or a post-June vehicle that has been throughly prepped with no problems (i.e. radio, low rear differential fluid or any of other problems we've (the general public) have encountered.

Isn't that an oxymoron: 4x2 w/off road?

Honestly, how far can you go off roading in a 2 wheel drive vehicle? (rhetorical question, I really don't want to know)

My old '82 dodge 4X2 use to get stuck just looking at mud.

HAHA, I always thought the same thing. It makes as much sense as the glue-on hood scoops.

Hey, come on now, what do you think prerunners are?? I bought 4X2 for overall cost, but also for the fact that I haven't used four wheel drive since I lived out west and went to the mountains a lot. Now I live in the South and I have no reasons to go REALLY offroad. But I still wanted that four wheel drive look! Besides, it does fine on fireroads and such, but yes, my arse is garse if I go too deep in the mud

My Tacoma Prerunner can do things a 4x4 cant. Likewise a 4x4 can do things my prerunner cant.

When you wanna go baja, desert running, or anything else like that, the 4x4 chassis and suspension minus the weight and inefficiency of the front drive components makes for a kick-*** platform.

Likewise, when you go crawling, you need that 4-wheel grip.
