Front brakes fixed today!

undefined My dealer performed the Brake Judder TSB on my Titan Crew Cab today, at 5154 miles. It took about 3 1/2 hours including their test drive and "burnishing" of the new pads. It brakes like new again! I hope it lasts!

Has anyone had the TSB and had their brakes go bad again? I've read so many posts, but can't remember a repeat problem.

Believe it, or not, this is the only problem I've had with my Titan. I get great gas mileage, my radio works as advertised(non RF), and I just can't complain. With a born-on date of 2-19-04 I expected more problems, and am keeping my fingers crossed.

The Service Department at my dealer, Horace Nissan in Farmington, New Mexico have treated me great. Of course I've only had this TSB and regular oil changes at about 2,000 mile intervals, but they are there to keep my Titan on the road.

I still love my Titan!!!

I had the 'initial' TSB done the first time after 11k miles.

That lasted until 15k. Got it back in for the 'New' TSB that included new rotors a couple weeks ago (Just under 21k on the truck - Drove almost 5k miles with the judder the second time).

I just called yesterday for round 3 of the brake fix. First time,at around 15,000, they didnt replace, second time,at 18,000, they didnt again because they didnt have the parts. This time I was promised new parts sitting at 23,000 and hope they last this time.

I had mine done at 6,000 miles and what a difference it made. Now I have close to 8,000 miles and still going strong.

I'm getting ready to have mine fixed on Tuesday, at 2200 miles. Hopefully this will fix the problem once and for all....I'm really starting to grow tired of the steering wheel shake everytime I slow down.

Had the initial TSB done at 1200 miles last month. Service guy told me it was a temporary fix and to bring it back when they had a more permanent fix with an updated TSB. I'm number 4 on the wait list for the new brake parts. I know the dealership received 6 of the kits last week (parts guy leaked that info out) but most of them probably went on the new trucks still sitting on the lot. My brakes are very mushy now and I've resorted to braking conservatively, so I will be taking it in the moment they call me.

First time: 2800 miles, second time: 7800 miles, third time 15,000. This is getting really old. I hope I get new rotors the next time, because when this truck is out of warrany next year, I do not want to replace brakes every few thousand miles at my own expense. This truck is worse on brakes than my 97 Suburban and that thing ate rotors every 10,000 miles.

I think I missed something. Is there a new tsb on brakes that including replacing rotors? Do they automatically replace them if you bring the car in or the brakes have to go bad again?

thx

I just had mine done for the first time and they only replaced pads, turned the rotors on the truck, replaced some locking pin per the tsb and my truck feels great. I was told this was the latest tsb and according to the tsb rotors are only changed if they are too thin when they are measured. Some that has had their rotors turned previously may be too thin and will get new rotors.

Yes, TSB 66A is the new one and the rotors are replaced under that one.

Got the brakes fixed today - what a difference....replaced the front pads, calipers, torque members/bolts and sliding pin kit, and machined and turned the rotors. performed TSB NTB04066B

hopefully this will help considerably and I don't have to deal with them anymore

Good news on your brakes. I need to get mine done, www.nissanhelp.com only has the original TSB online. Anybody got a copy of the updated "B" version?

here is a link to the first one.

http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../NTB04-066.htm

I have not seen the second one.

I also looked on http://www.nissan-techinfo.com and did not see a 66B TSB, only the TSB 66
