Just Bought One!

This is my first posting to this website; I just thought I'd jump in and say hello. My Titan's not a top-of-the-line model, but this baby purs like a cat. I picked up a Radiant Silver Titan Crew Cab XE 4x4 with the Offroad & Preferred Packages. Phenomenal... amazing truck. The room, the power, the features for the dollar; it's unbeatable. I may have the XE, but in the crew cab it includes power windows & locks, tilt, cruise, and AC; all I'm missing is the chrome The bigger tires from the offroad package really make it feel like you're ready to roll over anything

I was hoping to ask a few questions...

1) Is there anything I should know about new Titans? ie, known defects, recalls, etc?

2) Where do you get the tonneau covers? I want to add a tonneau cover, steprails, and a spray-in bedliner; otherwise, she's done.

3) Does the Titan 4x4 XE Offroad Package including E-Lock? On Nissan's website it does, but the actual sticker on the car listed everything *but* E-Lock. Dealer stickers are frequently goofy, though, so I'm wondering if it's an oversight.

Anyway, loving life now. Probably paid a bit more than I should have, but it was very hard getting financing (even with a 730+ credit rating) since I've never had a vehicle loan before. I bought Nissan's Gold Plan warranty, extending the factory out to 6 year/75,000 miles bumper to bumper (barring 'regular maintenance' stuff).

Yeah, this is one killer truck for the dollar. I'm a police cadet getting ready to move up to Alaska to be a cop, so I wanted something competent in the snow, and the crew cab makes it bigger and more roomy than any car, with the power & versatility of a truck This is truly an amazing vehicle, all-around... it even CORNERS awesome!

All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed - it has everything I wanted in features, and amazing functionality. Hope long-term reliability and durability are equally impressive

Cheers!

Omega Supreme, here's a pretty good link to stay in touch with Technical Service Bulletins (TSB). Notice the "ownership" section in the left pane.
http://www.nissanhelp.com/Models/200...escription.htm

Also, one of the better online parts stores, in my opinion, can be found at
http://www.courtesyparts.com/

Did you know that the baseline Titan has the same frame, engine, brake system, afterburner system, etc... as the top of the line?

Have fun in Alaska.

Congrats, the XE is definitely a steal! Do a search on "Checklist", this forum, and you'll find several important things to check before the long trek to Alaska.
Good Luck and Welcome!

Congrats - its a great truck. You did the right thing.

In the middle of the dash, below the radio / climate controls there are three buttons, with Tow being the middle of the three. What does the left button of the three look like?

About the e-locker, look at your build date all off rd/non big tow built after april should have the e-locker. The e-locker wasn't available between build months 12-03, also if you have big tow w/vdc you also won't have the e-locker. The pkg's you got with the XE really maximizes the dollar value of the truck, congrats.

Check the fluid on your differentials, you might just want to change them now because what they put in there doesn't seem to be of very good quality.
