ok techies......here's our chance!

Does anyone know what this does?
turn the key on......turn stereo off.......hold in the mute button (upper right corner) while holding this in turn the volume knob a few turns.....
The display will light up....
Now hit any button and codes appear!!!

What are these? In am guessing these are engine codes etc. Do you think there is any manual that would indicate what these are for? Any chance we can reset error codes etc? Maybe even reprogram our computers for economy?!!! (kidding of course!)

Just found this little gizmo and was wondering what all the codes are, and what they are there for?!

Interesting... To think, I thought that it was Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, and Start?

Wow!!! Just think if those codes can solve the RF fade problems. If it does, I rank your discovery right up there with anything else.

OK I just had to go look.....Looks to me like they are the 'programmed codes' for each of the buttons within the stereo? Funky stuff.

Interesting possibility! I changed as many as I could (after writing down what they were fo course) and nothing seemed to change in the stereo....

According to the service manual it is the AV system self diagnosis function.
