Bike Wheel Fork Mounting Options?

Alright, now that I have solved my bike mount issue by purchasing the Front Fork Bike Mount for the tie down cleat, http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...Category_Code=, I now need to find out if anyone has figured out the best method for transporting the front wheel on a fork mount instead of putting it in the cab.

Maybe I shouldn't be doing this since I haven't seen anyone else do it. But I just transport my 2 bikes like I do my motorcycle. WIth a ratchet strap. Should I not do this?

Bungie Cord

We usually throw a bungie cord from tie down to tie down acrossed the front and put the wheels between the bungie cord and place the bungie over the front quick release.

I use the tie down cleats and a bungee cord for the wheels. Put two cleats on the side rail far enough from each other where the wheel can sit between them with the tire resting on the inner edge of the cleats. Put the bungee cord across the wheel and anchored to the cleats. I hope I explained that clearly. I'll try to take a picture when I get home from work.

I think I can see how you're doing that, Gig'em. If you could still post a pic, that would be great. I don't plan on leaving my wheel nor my bike unattended for any length of time, but still want to find a more secure way of utilizing the fork mounts that mount somewhere in the bed since my wheel set costs $850.

I hear you about the wheels. I never leave my Bonti Race Lites laying in the bed. I'm more concerned about them getting shuffled around or gear landing on them if they are lying down in the bed.

Picture finally

Sorry it took me so long, but I finally got a picture of how I mount up the front wheel. It was an improptu thing, but its very sturdy. Works for mountain and road bike wheels.
