This is almost baffling trying to make sense of all these numbers and what it means. I have a 4x4 CC big tow/off rd util bed and no bed cover. The worst i've ever gotten( I keep track of every fill up as well) is 13.4 on the very first tank. Since then it increased very slightly every single fill up until around 5k. Last fill up i got 16.9, with 95 miles rural driving(non-stop 45-55mph AC on) and 100 highway(75-85mph no cruise, AC on) miles. I do live close to sea level maybe that helps, I use German castrol syntec 0w-30 and Irving gas from a local country store. I've been very satisfied with the gas milage. The first tank scared me as my previous 4runner 24V V6 always got 20mpg regardless the conditions but now 3mpg tradeoff is well worth it for the added power and size of the titan. I feel for you folks getting poor milage, I just don't understand why. I'd at least reset the computer if you haven't already.

man I wish I was like you all, in the streets I get about 12-13, on the highway i get about 17-19. One caveat I do like to get on mine pretty hard as I like to hear my exhasut--burning gas yes--but ooooh I still love the sound

Supra's driving pattern is like EPA hy cycle

Supratitan, your driving pattern are pretty much what the EPA cycle is supposed to duplicate-relatively low hy speeds-55-60,not too many stops.
In true city(as opposed to EPA city) these vehicles get 10-14,depending on how much of the city is on relatively unobstructed Interstates that run through all big cities.
I get 19.6 at 70mph AC on,but just 11-13.5 in city-New Orleans. If anyone does mainly city driving, they will be in the "complaining range"-10-13.Charlie

Anyway, here is a thread regarding mpg Mods...Good luck!

What Modifications Best Improve Gas Mileage?

Exactly. My comments were not directed at Skyler but at those that are calling everyone liers that are getting better gas mileage then they are. To simply call other's mpg stats as bull$hit without thinking is outrageous. PERIOD.

Hey guys, I may not be able to respond very often. I live in Mobile AL and we are getting ready for hurricane Ivan. You can see I posted earlier about my mileage being around 130-140 @ half a tank. Today I topped of my tank because of the storm and I had 127 miles @ 3/4's of a tank . I have been driving around with the VDC of at all times. Do you guys think that the VDC could be effecting my mileage, or is this a coincedent?

Just had my first fill up on brand new Titan - 14 mpg at 330 miles. 4x2, CC, no off road or big tow pkg. Mainly city driving, lots of traffic - Atlanta, GA.. I don't think this is bad at all considering not fully broken in yet and the mileages other members are reporting.

I had someone filling up the tank as I was driving so I could get 19 MPG on my highway runs. Around town with 4WD Big Tow I am getting 14-15 on the highway I am getting 19. With my motorcycle I am getting 54 MPG but I am sure that is just pure crack smoking BS.

My wife's Murano will get 26MPG on the local highways in North Carolina. On a recent trip to upstate NY fuel milage suffered ( hills ).

Fuel economy will vary based on the topography and driving style.

I came looking for this website because of my poor mileage but, it sounds like mine is not the worst and is in the lower middle @ 13.5 mpg. My driving is weighted 60% hiway. Mine is a LE KC 4wd offroad w/big tow and about 1400 miles on it. Ive added a tool box and am carrying about 300# more than the raw truck weight, exactly like I have decked out the last 4 Chevy Z71s. The chevys have gotten a low of about the same mileage 13.5 mpg on up to just short of 16 mpg, the avg being around 14.8-15.2 for this type of driving. The Titan does have more power and so far, seems to do a bit better in 4wd use but, I was hoping for better mileage. Guess I will have to wait and see. I usually chg oil first time around 2500 miles or so and plan on having the dealer ck the computer when I go in, maybe something is a little ****ed up and can be tweaked to help or something. The engine surges a little when first started in AM so maybe there is a problem. Any thoughts?
