XM radio

I see XM radio is starting to sell modulators that work with OEM radios that have XM capability. Hopefully the will offer one for Nissan soon, should be alot cheaper then buying from dealer..However I really like my Roady2.

yeah, you can't beat the price for a "roady 2". i picked one up recently & have enjoyed it immensely...not as clear due to the fm modulator but still works great! either way roady or installed you gotta love xm

I hooked my Roady2 through the aux port. World of difference in sound. Try that you will be amazed in how much the sound is better... XM radios sound better through a direct connection "aux port".

hey lizard, i tried mine using the aux port and it sounded like crap. i could barely hear it. i turned the audio volume on my roady up to 10. i took the cord back, bought the fm modulator, and that was better, but not very good, so i took it back. none of it was as good as the cassette adapter i had in my previous vehicle. how did you get your aux jack to produce a good sound? did you have the radio replaced under the TSB? i'm at a loss and have basically given up until i can afford to have the dealer install it for me. critter

I have both radios in my Titan, XM and Sirius The music channels are about the the same genre and quality. Some of the DJ's are better on XM, The traffic and weather is better on XM
Sirius has much better Sports and I am a big sports fan. They have all NFL, NHL, NBA,and some MLB Games. One thing I thought was cool, the NFL perseason games were broadcasting from both cities radio/tv stations. I listened to the Atlanta/San Francisco game, on one channel and heard the 49ers announcers then changed the channel and heard the Falcons announcers
Sirius also has a channel that plays music, and announcements as if you were on a cruise ship, even with the fog horns, called the Vacation channel
I have not taken my dash apart for a clean install of the receivers due to its a Lease and plan to trade up soon for another Titan maybe a 05 or 06
I have the Roady and SRS2 mounted in the tray where the Nav would have been.
I also bought a PIE inline preamp to boost the input for the AUX. The AUX input needed to be amplified a bit to come close to the CD Players volume.
The LD-1 is the preamp I bought from the xmfanstore, It has RCA inputs and outputs, up to 4 volts peak to peak, plus a filter for sub bass noise. The Aux input in my Titan needed most of the LD-1's output, because the 700 millivolts output of the Xm or the Sirius wouldn't cut it for me.

Weird! My aux port sounds pretty damn good compared to the wireless option on the Roady2. It's alot better then the FM. I too had to turn it up to 9 but the sound is really good. No, I don't have the upgraded radio yet "on order".

Aux port came with my truck. Not sure if it does with all audio options. I only use the cigarette lighter for power.

Satellite radio is a great way to get rid of the radio fade problem. I've got Sirius in all three of my vehicles. I have not listened to FM in about two years. Ijust got done installing the Kenwood DDX7015 in my Titan.
