Hey guys, noob here from the great northwest. Finally after getting sick of the crappy mileage and some great advice from nightowl I have my headers and Cajuns on the way! Does anyone know of a good thread on an install for LT's? Seems pretty straight forward, and I'm in luck because our family shop has a hoist. thanks for the help in advance and BIG shout outs to nightowl for letting me pester him for the last week!

Are you a 4wd or 2wd? I'm a 4wd and it took me about 8 hours by myself. It sucked at times but all in all wasn't that bad. Spray the nuts with PB blaster for a few days before install. Use a breaker bar where you can and where mechanic gloves also. You will cuss and bleed a little but in the end you'll look back and say, "Ah, wasn't that bad." I'll see if I can find a good install thread for you. I know theres on over on club titan.

Make sure to get a 14mm ratcheting wrench and a 12"piece of 3/4"conduit for a cheater pipe. Might go ahead and get some extra nuts and studs just incase you run across a stripped one or two. I would also get the oem metal manifold gaskets to prevent any leaks.

Nice. The 4 wd is a ***** to work around. Don't completely remove the motor mount bolts, just get them to where you can see a half inch of thread or so and that should give you enough play to do what you need to. Have fun...

Sent from my DROID BIONIC
I did one side at a time on my 4X4 . I removed the 4 motor mount bolts on the passenger side, and left the driver's side bolted down while I did the passenger side.
Then I let the engine down and put the bolts back in. It lined up just fine with a little finesse applied to the floor jack.
Since the driver side bolts are harder to access, I only loosened them and then jacked the engine up. It worked just fine, and I would probably do the passenger side the same as the driver side if I had to do it again.
Just be careful when you jack the engine up. It only takes about 1/4" to 1/2" of lift to get enough room to get the old manifolds out.
Have fun...
