Old but still prevelant and still in the pipeline from what one of my close friends that works at the headquarters has informed me. The only reason I haven't bought a Duramax is I'm waiting to see the actual numbers from this. I'm fine if it has the same turque curve as the VK does but it is litterally tune on the fly, as in if I want more fuel mileage I just push a button. Oh, but wait, I want more power and torque, let's just push this button.

Yeah and the warranty goes bye bye on a push of a button too.. Or it goes bye bye with 1 tank of bad Diesel ( which isn't uncommon) ...

Not really, I'd have to be able to prove that the tuner was the reason for the catastophic failure. There is a strong misconception that any modifications means a voided warranty and it's just not true. For example, it a 370Z comes in with a blown motor with a turbo kit on it then yes. But if the same car comes in with just headers and a full exhaust and maybe a tune with a rod knock then it would still be warranty.
well as long as people in nissan are saying this is still in the works i'm happy. i dont want the titan to be ended lol.
I almost kind of hope it does get ended cuz then my T will never look out dated compared to a newer model. And it will make our trucks even more unique
All I know is I'd rather a v8 instead of a small diesel. And to stop the problem with the mpgs and price of fuel.............you bought a truck for the passion of owning a truck. Obviously if you're into saving the environment and saving the most when it comes to fueling, then a full size pick up just ain't for you, you should have gone with some crappy 4 cylinder or even a prius. Like I told the guy at the stealership........"I own a truck that gets roughly 14-15 mpgs....I can careless about fueling it up, with premium, I travel a lot and it's gotta get done." maybe that's just my opinion but it's a PITA when people talk about saving fuel with their trucks.

Adding a tuner to a gas vehicle isn't really going to be a issue in most cases.
Chevy makes the mechanics send them a copy of the computer program before they do any Motor work on the Dmax's just to make sure there wasn't a programer hooked up to it.
Ford & dodge dealers will check also.
From the article: The Titan has been a sales slug. It started strong, there was optimistic talk about 100,000-plus annual sales, but it never happened.
Of course it never happened because very few know about this truck. They never advertise the damn thing on TV or the radio at all. I still run into people right now that have no idea that Nissan makes a full size truck.
Their lack of sales has very little to do with what the article states. 2 cab configurations and a V-8 engine are the majority of trucks purchased by those that buy Chevy, Ford or Dodge as well. Very few if any buy the V-6 option.
I fully agree with PRJ. Nissan has done a VERY poor job of advertising the Titan. When the new Tundra came out, every other ad on the TV and the radio was about how wonderful the new Tundra is. The F150, Silverado, Ram and Tundra pickups get HUGE amounts of advertising and subsequently get a lot of the sales. Nissan has done a few television commercials with the Titan, but they need to push it HARD, just like the other manufacturers. They need to be proud of their product and show it!

The huge, glaring flaw in your diatribe is that some folks don't buy a truck "for the passion of owning a truck". I bought a truck as a tool to pull a trailer, but because I would consider buying a better tool that could cut the cost of operation by almost 50%, you would suggest I'm a tree hugger and that I shouldn't have bought a truck at all and should drive a Prius? What a load of crap.

Exactly. I can't pull a trailer with a Prius.

I don't think he was suggesting trying to pull a trailer with a Prius, but his opinion clearly isn't well thought out. It's based on an assumption that everyone bought a truck for the same emotional reason he did. A load of crap.
