Fuel Stabilizer

Dropped Titus off on Friday for his grand adventure to Hawaii via Dallas Vehicle Processing Center. Without giving it much thought I threw a bottle of Lucas Oil Fuel Stabilizer. I'm not taking delivery in Honolulu until ~Jan 15th, does anyone have any experience with this product? I've never used it before but I was told fuel can go bad after 30 Days. Right Decision?

Re: Fuel Stabilizer

You'll be alright. I'm sure they'll have to start the engine here and there to move it around.
Not sure how full your tank is but if you can after taking delivery, put some new gas in and drive.

US Coast Gaurd requires less then 1/4 tank, mines about halfway between empty and 1/4, so I estimate it to be about 7 Gallons knowing my gauge. I'm just worried about dirty/gummed up injectors. I've never had my truck sit more then a week without it being driven.

Re: Fuel Stabilizer

I think the fuel stabilizer was probably overkill. In 2009 my Titan sat in my garage for about 6 weeks without any stabilizer while I was undergoing cancer treatment. I had no issues with it starting or with the fuel. My climate is a lot less humid than your Titan will be dealing with but the fuel system should be a closed environment.

That said, some stabilizer won't hurt (I'm partial to Sta-bil but only in my small engines) as long as you got the ratio right.

OK cool. Back on topic tho my truck sat for 6 1/2 mo with 1/4 tank and when I got home it started right up after a 3 second crank. And that's with the tropical conditions. U should be fine
