Buying used from a private party, what should I have checked

Reference to my other thread, I'm looking at a 2008 Pro 4X for sale by a private party. The truck sounds like it has an exhaust leak, sounds like the manifolds, so that is being checked on Tuesday, it has 70k miles, so it's still under warranty and should be covered if they're cracked.

My plan is to have it looked at by a Nissan dealership, what should I have checked? Obviously I can check the easy things like switches, brakes etc.

One other question, when you push the tow haul button, I know that the line on the button lights up, but are there any other indicator lights on the dash that come on?

Thanks guys

Main issues to look for are of course cracked manifolds, leaking axle seals front and rear, cracked radiators which are made with plastic these days. I would have the rear differential oil checked for metal fragments also. The rear ends had issues prior. Other than those issues these are solid trucks and I would not let any of these sway me different.

I second that, just picked up a 04 SE 4x4 with 141k on it. Make sure the manual shift works I have bench seat . Check the air controls meaning floor to vent and hot to cold. The second item requires removing the dash. Shocks and sway arm bushings. Love the truck.
