Spindle/UCA spacer?

So I can't seem to get rid of CBC on the driver side only no matter what I do without messing with my alignment specs. Anybody try using some sort of spacer between the UCA and spindle? I have dirt king UCAs and I'm thinking if I can find a strong and snug fit 1/2" to 1" hollow piece of metal, I can slide the bolt through it and eliminate that little bit of contact.

Re: Spindle/UCA spacer?

That seems like a really bad idea...I feel like if that was an option someone would be selling it but I really don't think any kind of spacer between the spindle and UCA would be asking for disaster

I think if I even put 5 durable washers that might do the trick. Idk. I'm not sure how much force is put on that area during harsh suspension use.

The washers are just an example. I was thinking solid stainless steal the same diameter as the top part of the spindle cut and drill pressed to fit perfectly.

Re: Spindle/UCA spacer?

It'll throw your suspension out of the geometry it's supposed to be in. I've asked nick about this at dirt king. He said not to do it.

Re: Spindle/UCA spacer?

How do you have CBC with DK UCAs?

For some reason my cam bolts are maxed out but my alignment is off when you look at the tires from the front \/ shape. So I adjusted the arms but now they touch the bucket only on the driver side. Don't know what else to do. I don't see how that would throw off the geometry unless the upper and lower arms are exactly parallel to eachother.

I see now. The arms are parallel. That would put a ton of stress on the joints. Hmmm.

Re: Spindle/UCA spacer?

Messing with added stress to the ball joints just screams ball joint failure. You could just add a little bit of positive camber to the uca adjustment so it won't have cbc. a small amount of positive camber isn't going to hurt anything. if you think about it your wheels are changing camber all the time while you are driving, its incorrect tow that will kill your tires. You must have those uca's cranked if there making cbc. lol those dirt king uca's have a crazy amount of added clearance.

Even cranked as much as they are I still have positive camber with contact, but only on the driver side.

I can't see your sig, so what lift are you running? Pics of the front end won't hurt either.

I don't have any pics and I'm at work now. I'm running a procomp 2" spacer with the dirt king UCAs and adjustable cam bolts that are maxed out.

I made a thread on the issue before but never got it figured out. My last resort is maybe a smaller spacer. It's always been just the driver side that has CBC. Even with stock arms.

Re: Spindle/UCA spacer?

I still don't get how you're having coil bucket contact.. Especially with just the 2" leveling kit. Even if you're newer style 4wd with the DK UCAs, you should have plenty of clearance.

Well I adjusted the arms to decrease the positive camber I had that was eating the crap out of the edges of my tires.
