Just picked up an A.R.E. camper shell for the titan. Anyone know of or have a wiring diagram? I have a black and red wire going to the interior light and the same going to the third brake light. I would like to somehow make a plug and tie it into the tailights so it is easy to unplug when i remove it. Any suggestions are very appreciated. I can do all the connections, but am not electrically inclined to figure out with a voltmeter, etc. Thanks very much in advance.
baseballfanz,
Thanks for the link. I found the lighting section and the stop lamp pages (pgs. 98-104). Unfortunately, this is like reading chinese. The cap I have has an interior dome light with a switch and the third brake light. My questions would be, should I tie into the trucks third brake light wiring to operate the third brake light on the cap? Or just tie into the tialight wiring? And what would I tie into to use the interior light? Would it be a 12Volt power wire? I am foreign to this kind of stuff so please bear with my ignorance.
Does your truck have the 12v bed outlet? If it does, it'd be really easy to tap that one for the dome light and tap the brake light at the left rear for the 3rd brake light. They'd both be at about the same spot.

Yes it does have the 12v outlet. Didnt think about that; this might be easier than i thought! Thanks
Just put a male plug on the end of your dome wiring and plug it in. That way you wouldn't compromise the integrity of that wiring and would still have a quick disconnect type function to it.
You'll want to tap the red/black wire at one of the tail lights for the brake. The 12v bed outlet is only hot while the truck is on, although that's an easy mod to fix.

There was a thread about this a while back. Some peoples' bed outlet only work with ign on, while others are always HOT. Mine is always HOT.

For the 3rd brake light use something like this, you can pick them up at any auto parts store.
One side go to the tail lights wires and the other go to the wire for your camper 3rd brake light.
On your tail light tap the RED from connector to Red/Black wire and the Black to Black. (See diagram).
For your dome light, if your bed outlet is not HOT all the time, the next closest would probably be the trailer harness.
