Question 04 or 05 Should I wait?

Should I wait for the 05, or take advantage of the end of year 04 sales?

Rebates at $1500 and now a local dealer is offering $5K off MSRP (on a couple of models, this is below KBB & Edmunds Invoice.)

Any advice?

I'm waiting on the 05 to come out so i an see the rear window option and the interior options. Also interested in the price difference between the 05 and 04. Hopefully the 05 will not be too much higher in price because I am really interested in the above modifications to the 05. If it is too high I am hoping on someone having the vehicle I want still on thier lot with enough incentive to get rid of it. I have kept my current truck since 1988 so I obviously don't trade much. I figure with that length of ownership that I should get what I want even if it is a little more as long as it is within reason. Sad thing is the truck still costs as much as I paid for my house. looking for 4X4 smoke crew cab with big tow and granite leather interior.

You should wait until the 05s hit the lot

Then BUY AN 04!! you will get a steal of a deal once the new model is released, as long as a dealership has what you want. If you are picky, get a truck NOW!!

The August build has all of the bugs fixed. The 05s aren't much different, save the tail gate assist, if you are looking for a KC... If you want a CC though, you will get the roll-down rear window option. Up to you.

I rather save the $5000 personally. I'm sure the 05 tail gate will be alot less than that

How do you figure $5000? The rebate is only $1500. You will still be able to get an 05 at invoice (although it will be harder) you just won't have the rebate incentive.

I didn't figure it. I just go look at the MARKDOWN stickers on the window that the local Mossy dealership has on their front line Titans. It says right in the window "5000 OFF MSRP!"

I'm sure that the first few weeks the 05's are on the line there won't be any direct mark down unless you haggle a deal or something, and probably nothing as sweet as $5000. More than likely, it will be another year from now until you can get $5000 off of an 05's MSRP before even going inside to haggle. Unless Nissan hits some unpredictable sales barrier or something, all extranious circumstances aside.

The $5000 off MSRP you refer to is the $1500 rebate plus the difference between MSRP and invoice so there is really no special deal there. What I'm saying is that you will still be able to get an 05 at invoice so the only thing that you are really losing out on is the $1500 rebate. Maybe it's different in your part of the country but around here (New Jersey) you can always buy a car at invoice unless its some kind of limited production model or hotly awaited new release. Any car that dealers have sitting on the lots can be had at invoice if you do your homework. The method that always worked for me was to e-mail the internet sales managers directly and telling them that you are ready to buy if they can do invoice. 3 out of 5 will agree to it. Going to the dealer and haggling with a salesman is a waste of time and usually results in a higher price being paid (they have to earn a living from commissions after all).
