Exhaust and Intake filter, what to choose???

Hello, first off i work for Nissan plant and am in paint, i work on the final production part of the plant to fix or paint any repair that needs to be tended to on all vehicles So i can answer questions for yall in part of that subject since im a specialist in that field

Ok, im fixing to take the plunge and get the Titan, it is going to be a 4x4 smoke LE with sunroof, offroad, graphite leather, it is going to have EVERY option except Navigation but in my opinion a $5 map will do me just fine there.

OK, to my questions, i know there is some people out there that like real low noise exhaust NOT ME, i am looking for the loudest exhaust to put in line with dual and chrome tips, now when i say loud i dont mean 12 inch glass pack loud with convertor taken out, i mean loudest exhaust such as Banks, Flowmaster, magnaflow and so on if yall catch where im going.

Also, what air intake is better, K&N or volant?

Thanks for all questions answered and glad to see so many people enjoying there new titans.

Go with the flowmaster 40 series delta flow, Great sound and is supposed to give good gas mileage with good HP inprovements. And rite now, I have heard that the 2nd version VOLANT cai fits great and also works great.

With the problems with K&N, I would go with the Volant. I have the 2nd version it fits very well with no MAP sensor problems.. When it comes to exhaust I would go with the Banks. Very well made and it sounds awesome.

If you want the dual out, see the thread by Sammy on Flowmaster Dual Exhaust, lots of variations documented there. Or, the Gibson sounds good (loud too), thread here: Best Exhaust Ever! .
My advice FWIW, is to leave yourself some room to quiet it down if the first choice is too loud. A good start might the di/do Flowmaster 50 X-pipe with the stock resonators replaced by straight sections (see post by MikeZ). That ought to be plenty loud. But if that's too loud, reinstall the resonators. If still too loud, go to the Flowmaster 70 big Block. If still too loud, add a couple of bullets ahead of the flowmaster which is what I ended up with, but it's probably too subdued based on your description of desired sound. There's a post on this forum where the muffler was replaced with a straight pipe! I'd sure like to hear that!!
Good Luck.

If you are looking for a single in/single out, go with the Magnaflow. I put it on my LE CC and it sounds and performs great. Many comments from friends and strangers on how nice it sounds. I am going to put the K&N CAI on per numerous recommendations of friends who are mechanics/gear heads. MLV.

i think 2 of the 40 series delta flow flowmaster's and a K&N filter kit will be the way to go, NOT for certain on the exhaust to 100% but it is my choice right now. Im looking for a LOUD powerful exhaust that can be heard really loud, but not the popping of a glass pack.

Any problems as far as warranty is concerned? I just bought a Titan SE CC
today with the 6 yr. 75,000 gold warranty so if I decide to modify anything I don't want to screw the warranty. I don't believe exhaust or intake would void anything unless they could prove it caused the problem. If the rear end falls off I
hope they wouldn't say "well you've modified your Titan's exhaust so get lost".

The difference between the two mufflers versus one is small compared to the amount of money it takes to buy two of them. The engine is too small for two mufflers. Remember the stock exhaust keeps most of the torque under 2500 rpm. The less back pressure flattens torque curve. A single Flowmaster or Gibson muffler with dual-in/dual-out is better.

I like loud exhaust, and I currently have the flowmaster 40 series dual in/dual out, with 4" tips strait back. However, I think it could be louder... you gotta really get on it to scare people. But I will say I regularly set peoples car alarms off just driving through parking lots, and I feel the highway drone is very acceptable.

Re: Exhaust and Intake filter, what to choose???

You are not goin to get a straight answer out of anyone to who makes the most power. Every motor is different. You can look at the specs of all the muffllers and all that will do is still leave you wondering. Listen to the sound clips and decide which one you think sounds the best. No system is gonna out perform the other hands down. To really see what exhaust performs the best we need to get a truck, a few of the exhaust systems and a day at the dyno. And to be honest with you I don't see that happening here anytime soon. If you want Loud go with a 2-chamber vice a 3-chamber flowmaster muffler. I think that is annoying but you will prob be happy...
