2012 Nissan Titan complaints...so far

So, I bought my Titan back on May 20th. I love this truck, but would like to share some issues I have had with it.

#1 The pinch safety feature on the automatic windows.
I have had to take my Titan to the dealer 3 times now because of this safety feature. Nothing has ever been pinched in my windows, but yet this feature has been activated 4 times now, and I now have to take it back to the dealer again to get it reset. If you do not know what this feature is, I will explain. If for some reason, while your automatic windows are rolling up and they detect that something might be getting pinched in the window, they will automatically roll down about 2 inches. Once it detects this once, it will continue to roll down the window until the feature has been reset. The only way to reset this feature is to take it to the dealer.

#2 The capture nuts on the frame are now gone. If you order a Defiant Light Bar from Paul Fox, you may want to verify that you have the nuts on the inside of the frame to ensure that you can mount the brackets. My wife ordered me a Light Bar from Paul for my Christmas present while I was deployed. She tried to have a neighbor install it and discovered that there wasn't a way to mount the brackets. Paul, and his outstanding customer service came through and sent a very unique device that allows you to fish the bolts into the frame and install them backwards (bolts sticking out of the frame from the inside).

I had the window saftey issue a couple times once vent shades were installed. These are good trucks and my 05 is holding up great so far...

8000 miles on my 2012 and no issues at all. In fact I've never had an issue other than recall with any of my three Titans

My windows do it with the visors too. Small issue I'm not worried about.

Re: 2012 Nissan Titan complaints...so far

I have around 3k on mine and the only issue that I've came across is my driver side door panel. It seems to come loose until I push on it and pop it back down. It seems that it is held to the door by some kind of clips, and if I don't pop it back the door panel starts to rattle at the slightest bump.

missing a few screws?

no seriously, I would check

HOW TO: removal of inner door panels.

A capture nut is a threaded square that is welded inside the frame.

Re: 2012 Nissan Titan complaints...so far

At 1000 miles I had to take mine in cuz the rear brakes were making a loud rubbing noise when the pedal was applied lightly. They rebuilt the calipers, put on new pads, turned the rotors and all is quiet again.

Mine did that too. I just held the up switch till they closed all the way 4 times and it stopped doing that.

Re: 2012 Nissan Titan complaints...so far

Honestly, this truck is awesome.
I like more everyday.

The one thing that I noticed is the heater takes a while to warm up my truck.
Not a big deal, I will either live in Texas or California.

But it has been cold lately.
The heater does not work as well as the Toyota trucks that I have owned.
