Exclamation Is there a real problem with Titans??

Listening to the Magic Mechanic radio show this weekend (WDBO AM, Orlando, FL) I was suprised to hear the following:

"The Nissan Titan is a new vehicle and I can't believe how many are showing up at the auto auctions. There are 15 or more new ones in the auctions every week. This is really odd for a new vehicle. There has to be a significant problem or multiple problems. Also the vehicle's sales are no where near projected totals. Can someone who owns a Titan please call in and let us know if you know of any problems? Is it gas mileage, mechanical, service, quality?"

I had to get off the radio before anyone called in. Doesn't sound to good.

Only 2 on Ebay-none in classified-Check here-

I don't notice that here-TT-or in New Orleans.Check your local classified section-if they are at the auction, they will end up in the classified.or the local "car Sales" booklet.Spend 50 cents on a paper-bunch there??Let us know what you find,OK??
There are some niggling problems(I don't have any),but nothing really dramatic-like 1/20 motors or trans failing. If there was something dramatic going on-like the RF radio-it would be know here 1st.We are the #1 whiners in respect to Titans. On big things, there have been 2 motors,3 rear ends,2-3 trans,a huge number of RF radios, many AC drain line problems, bunch of "overhead consoles" cracked, fair number of brake shudders, one front diff.Charlie

The real problem with Titans is Nissan didn't step up fast enough to handle their problems with QC issues, get the parts out to fix the ones already out there and keep their service depts informed and up to speed.

It's an awsome truck if they get the minor issues taken care of and start listening to their owners and dealers and taking better care of them both. Most of the issues have been relatively minor but after a while you get frustrated and that's most of the complaining you'll hear.

That said, my dealer has been behind me 100% and done everything I've asked. They're just as frustrated as many of the owners because it makes them look bad also and hurts their sales.

Nissan is still better than the lack of service I got from GMC. Given the choice again I'd still buy the Titan.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the info in my original post. I merely am passing on the info.

I am overall very happy with this truck. There are many minor things that have addressed but I still think it's the best thing out there. You won't find me in a BIG 3 vehicle ever again. Some day I may update to a newer Titan or Tundra. I'm a strong believer in the quality of these trucks.

There still needs to be some improvements made concerning QA during assembly but I think it's just a matter of time and experience. Nissan also needs to admit to issues and address them in a timely manner (radio, brakes?).

BTW Every Nissan dealer in town always has at least three used Titans for resale. I have only seen a couple in the paper but I'll check with Auto Trader. I'm seeing more Titans on the road every week so I think the sales guys are doing well.

I did see my 1st one for sale at a local Dodge dealer and must admit that my first thought was "what kind of problems is that one suffering from". That's the only used one I've seen for sale though.

You sure your not seeing huricane and flood damaged vehicles auctioned off where you are.
It's been a tad damp in your neighborhood lately.

There are 2 in the Autotrader in orlando area 25 Miles from my home and 17 for sale within 100 miles. Doesn't seem to correspond with the radio shows numbers. Only thing I can guess is that they were brought in from hurricane damaged areas around the state.

I've seen three for sale in the last month, which for our small area seems like quite a few. It really could be anything (most likely guys biting off more than they can chew) but initially I had the same thought - what's wrong with these trucks. The ford and chevy dealers are sure proud to park them front and center in their used lot, as if to make a statement.

I'd be hesitant to buy even a new car or truck in FL right now. Who knows what it's been through.

Don't worry about it. The reported trucks being seen at the auctions will find their way to other states.

I bought a Subaru in 91 from a dealer as a demo. Found out it was bought at auction and sold 4 times in 6 months and brought back. Engine problems stalling. Got my money back and the dealership was a bit afraid when I brought it back. They offered 100k warranty or a new one at cost. I told them no I'll go somewhere I trust.

WV several years ago after major floods had many cars at auction after insurance paid owners. Cleaned up auctioned and then sold out of state.
