Heated Seats?

It was around 60F this morning and I decided to give the heated seats a try for the first time. To be honest, I really could not tell a big difference with it turned on. I have about a 15min commute to my office. Is it not cold enough to tell that they are on? Is it very noticable when you use them?

I had the plastic piece replaced around my gear shifter several weeks ago and I am wondering if they may have forgot to hook the wires back to the switch.

Just wondering if the sear gets hot when you turn the heater on?

We have them in our '98 pathfinder and in my LE. My commute is also about 15 min. It takes at least that long for them to warm up. We seldom use them unless I go out in winter and start the vehicles to "warm up" prior to departing.

I noticed that the first 4 or 5 times i tried mine i felt no difference. The last 2 mornings have been great though. Its mainly my lower back that gets warm.

I tried my heated seats this morning and didn't really notice any warmth. My silverado that I had would burn you up in a few minutes.

Well 150lbs soaking wet so I have very little "on board padding" if you will. On the high setting, I start to feel warmth in a couple minutes or so in 55ish weather.

Do the heated seats on the Titan have two settings: Hi and Low? (haven't bought one yet...still thinking about it).

My wife's '02 Maxima has cloth heated seats with two settings. It takes a while to feel anything on the low setting, but the hi setting will toat your butt. Her heated steering wheel is great too!

I can notice them after a few minutes. However, I find that sheepskin seat covers are more effective and provide more immediate relief from frosty seats.

On high setting, I have to shut it down after about 4-5 minutes. It fries my ***! Something may be wrong with yours. I feel heat on the seat bottom and lower back.

Tried mine at lunch and they are almost as quick to warm up, and seem to produce about the same amount of heat as the ones in my wife's Toyota Landcruiser. Very handy when it's cold out and the leather feels like ice!

Tried mine this summer on high and the driver side heated up immediately (within a minute or so). It was obviously hot out, but you could feel a major difference in temp. The low setting took much longer to heat up and would be the setting I would have to use after it warmed because the high setting was too hot after a bit. I believe high is selecting the button on the top side and low on the low side; there is a line on one side that is thicker than the other and I understood that to be the high setting. Sounds like you've got a problem unless you were using the lower setting. 15 minutes still sounds too long for either though...

Well I thought I would update the group on my findings. It seems that when the dealer replaced my center piece that goes around the gear shifter they thought it would be better to reverse the switches for the heated seats. I found this out by accidentally leaving the driver side switch on and the next day my wife was riding with me. She all of a sudden said, "my butt is hot". I was like WOOHOO lol but to my dismay it was only the seat switch on the drivers side making the heaters on the passenger come on.

Another casualty of poor dealer workmanship here..........My switches are reversed as well. I too, had the trim piece around the shifter replaced after they scratched it working on something else about 3 weeks ago. Can we ever get a decent technician these days? This is literally like the 6th thing they screwed up as a result of taking the truck in for a simple repair.

The question now is how important is it to me that the switches are reversed? I don't enjoy the thought of having to go back in yet again and either wait, get a loaner, or risk more damage by these morons.
