Began Disassembling Front End

i dont know what i was thinking a few days ago. I was seriously contemplating taking my truck to the dealer to get fixed on non-warrentied repairs.

after getting encouragement from yall and some guys from work, i decided to start taking apart the front end to get to the bumper to fix / bend it back.

in 3 hours, i removed the grille, right head-light, right side bumper, skid plate, and the left and right "fillers". i cleaned my grille, which i plan on trading for a smoke colored grill.

i ordered a rear tow hitch and a left side bumper. since i have to have the plastic bumper painted, i am also going to have the body shop paint the middle chrome part smoke. i will retouch the front end with a carraige works or some other billet grille.

TX=Bug Central

Wow,look at those bugs.We drive thru TX a few times a year(New Orleans-Shreveport-DFW-Amarillo-AZ),and you Texans certainly have the biggest suicidal bugs in the USA.Hell, the Pilot actually shudders when they hit!!I put the 3M stuff on just because of TX!
Nice truck ,by the way.How can you get to behind the headlights-if you want to change a bulb??I want to put some higher wattage ones in there.Charlie

Second the nice blanket and pillow! Besides me, 4 of my 5 daughters and my 3 son-in-laws went to TAMU! You'd think by now that I'd own some portion of the school.

so you're saying one of your daughters is still single...

i am also, class of '03, work as an engineer for NASA, AND I OWN A TITAN!

titan love connection! hehe

you can think my grandma for the blanket and pillow. my original plan after college was to have an apartment with a "theme" other than maroon and white. that didn't happen. my living room has:

1' x 1' maroon powder coated ATM symbol
Top and Side View Drawing of TAMU Formula SAE Race Car
Bonfire Blanket
ATM Blanket
ATM Pillow
Diploma
ATM Symbol in Window

graduation gifts...gotta love them.

and i did just wash my truck tonight. took 2 hours, with most of the time spent rinsing and refilling buckets. i gotta start washing my truck more often. and those love bugs did not want to come off. next time i'm going to have to bust out the clay bar. i'm going to have nightmares about waxing this beast.

but i must say, it looks hot!

Actually 2 of my daughters are still single. One is a junior at Sam Houston, the other is a senior at TAMU and headed to med school.

Glad to hear you got the bugs off your truck-- hopefully no paint or chrome damage. I've found that soaking them for 15 minutes or so with a pretty strong solution of Dawn dishsoap and water will soften them up and they'll come right off. Also, the Meguiars NXT wax is very easy to use and does a great job. Took me less than 30 minutes to wax my beast.
