Dumb Question

Just picked up my new truck Saturday. Anyway, is there a place to hang/put the gas cap when you are filling it? I can't figure it out, so it just hangs there. I'm sure there is a place that it's supposed to sit while you are filling???

See that little hook on the fuel door? Loop the plastic string the cap is attached to through it and the cap will hang there away from any paint.

OK, thanks for the answer. I knew they couldn't have forgot this detail. I'll try it the next time I fill up (which seems to be a little more often than I care for).

or the strap can break from other people filling up the tank (stupid Jersey law). Then you dont have to worry about the paint, just the attendant putting it back on.

jersey sucks, Im from New York and constantly pump my own gas when Im over there because the attendants take their sweet time getting to you because it is "illegal" and they know you have to wait to avoid getting arrested I had one guy threaten to call the cops, they are really anal, but atleast the gas is cheap

I have now heard everything.

You are complaining about low gas prices AND full service? Man you are spoiled. You don't have to get out of your truck to fill up in the winter and you are complaining?

Full service went out around here around the late 80's. You are lucky to see an attendant inside the booth behind the bulletproof glass around here.

I'm confused about Polaristitan's post. What are you talking about? Its illegal to pump your own gas? Full service is illegal? I've read that thing twice and I can't understand the run-on sentence. I guess you have to speak slower for us Texans. But seriously, what is illegal?

Not legal in New Jersey...and I think that Washington state may be that way too.

Yes it is illegal to pump your own gas in Jersey. Basically for all of us southerners Jersey is our Louisiana. Corrupt and backward.

Wow, I had no idea. What is the official and unofficial reasoning behind this? Is the picture below THAT big of a problem up there?
