I've never seen an engine comparment light on my Titan, and don't think it comes with one. Most Japanese cars I've dealt with don't have them, and I think the Titan isn't any different.

I bought a couple of the GM reel lights. Juma previously posted the part number (after I spent half a day fruitlessly searching a junk yard) so I ordered off the net. There is a positive accessory terminal on the battery, so wiring is easy. I think I paid $30 or $35/each.
The part number is: 15990293 and it is apparently made by "Hobbs". It also has the number 7 283 above the part number.

It might be cheaper, and if you have some electrical skills, to snag a light out of a car from a junk yard.

On the junk yard subject, there is apparently some sort of bounty on the mercury switch underhood lights, so in the junk yard that I went to, every single underhood light had been stripped by the yard operators.
Do you happen to have or could you provide any pictures of your setup? Where did you mount the light and how'd you hook up the positive and ground/chasis lines?
On the mecury switches issue, I wonder if it has anything to do with environmental concerns with mercury???
