Anybody seen the latest Dodge commercial?

Talk about stretching the truth, all the reviews I've seen put the Titan on top, but they are saying their independant (yeah right) research firm has found that the Ram out accelerates, out tows, and out hauls all other 1/2 ton trucks. Oh and they make it a point to show the Titan very close to last.

Could it be Dodge is a little miffed?? hehehe I drove a Hemi the other day and I KNOW I could smoke it, thing had no real acceleration compared to my Titan, couldn't wait to drive my baby again.

As long as they mention an "independant reaserch(er)" they can claim anything they'd like. But ALL tests I've read prove that commercial wrong. I guess Dodge is feeling the heat that the Titan is sending out. They're running scared. Legal lying is their only hope. I mean...look at Fords F-150 ads. They try and claim highest tow rating in class. But only after the Titan released its' 9500 LB rating with the tow pkg, did Ford up theirs from 9200 LBS. What they DON'T tell you is......that "9700 LB" rating is for 2WDs ONLY! MUCH higher than their 4X4 models.

Yeah, but if we just had those Ford bolts that hold the bed on...I haven't been able to sleep at night since I saw that ad...I just know that my bed will fly off while going down the freeway.
Curse those Ford advertising people. Oh hell, curse all of them!!! The Bassturds!

that dodge commercial is for a HEMI, which is an optional premium on the Dodge, how can you compare a up level dodge to all base level trucks? of course an engine with 345 hp is ore powerful then our 305, but you uhave to pay extra (a lot extra) if you want a configuration like a titan. Why not just compare GM's 8.1 litre V-8 to the HEMI and see who wins. Fcuk Dodge!

The Titan is still the better tow vehicle. Even with the HEMI motor, the Titan has more torque. Besides, the Dodge doesn't offer a TOW/HAUL mode or a 5 spd tranny.

Actually the Hemi does have a 5-spd auto tranny.

Speaking of Ford beds, what da hell is up with the F150 bed height?! My wife couldn't even reach over the side to drop in a bag of groceries if she had to. Would need a step stool just to manage it.

Sometimes I wonder if they have forgotten the under 6' tall truck buyer.

Oh wait, now I know. It's truck envy. Bolt on a big a$$ bed to make up for a weak powertrain and sloppy handling.

The Dodge does have an option of the 5-speed auto with a tow/haul mode. A good friend of mine has an 04 2500 ram quad cab 4x4 with the Hemi and a flowmaster exhaust and let's just say that my stock Titan had 1 truck length by 30mph and had 4-5 truck lengths on him by about 90mph. Take that HEMI! However, to defend him alittle, it was a 3/4 ton 2500, not a 1/2 ton 1500 and he does have a tool box with I'm sure a few hundred pounds of tools. So I'm sure the 1500 would be closer but the Titan should still be much quicker. The Dodge is still a good truck, it was my second choice.

I don't know about that, but I really want to get one of those bed bolts, just in case I feel the need to dress up in a white lab coat and hold a clipboard while I hoist my truck into the air like a dead deer. Lame commercials, and consumers are buying it all.
BTW, how did they lift that truck without scraping the front bumper on the ground? They don't show that, and they make it appear as if that is an actual test (lab coat dummy). What nonsense. Maybe you can't hear it in the ad because they use "quiet steel" for the bumper too.
Okay, off the soapox...

I don't watch tv much anymore, so I missed this Ford commercial. What was it saying?
Also wanted to make a comment on the HEMI. The dealer I talked to and where I test drove a few Titans have a Dodge and Nissan dealer on one lot and a GMC dealership on the other end (along with some other makes). The sales guy I was talking to said that the dodge sales guys were not happy when the Titan came. I guess they raced them and everything and he said the Titan wooped up on the HEMI!

Yes, in 4X4 crew cab form, the Titan Endurance engine and the Rams 4X4 crew cab Hemi are nearly neck-n-neck. But strap on 8500LBS of trailer, the Titan pulls away. But....every other truck on the road is either a Dodge or a Ford. I wanna stand out a bit, regardless!

The Dodge ad the really torques me is the Magnum one where the guy gets off the bike and looks real impressed by the Magnum. C'mon, it is a freakin' station wagon. You can drop a hemi into it and it is still your mom's freakin' station wagon with a hemi. The only station wagon that was ever cool was the Chevy Nomad from the 50's. Drop a hemi in one of those and you might have something worth advertising...

dont worry about the hemi guys, if you have any sort of racing skills whatsoever you can take a hemi stock vs. stock anytime. i have raced numerous hemis at the track and on the streets and i always come out on top (not always the case with regular cabs). dont fear those hemis!
