Titan optioned the way I want?

Hi again

IF I do go get a killer Titan, I want certain things and don't want certain others. Now, when I go to Edmunds or Kelley or even Nissan's own site, it seems that the packages and dependencies are never worked out exactly right, because for example when I went to the dealer for my Murano, some requirements were different than indicated...

So, can I do this? or how close?

YES:
- 4WD
- Heated Leather
- Side Airbags

NO:
- OffRoad Pkg
- Bedliner (rather go LineX)
- Rockford Fosgate (can the 6-disc indash be replaced as easily as a standard HU?)
- Navigation

Thanks
Dave

Leather seats are only available in the LE. Standard equipmet on the LE includes the Rockford-Fosgate radio and Util-trak bed system (spray-in liner).

About the closest you can get to what you want would be a 'stock' SE. This configuration would have the 'standard' radio and no bed liner. Side air bags would not be available in this configuration. Leather seats could be added as an aftermarket addon.

The Rockford radio can be changed out. One needs the XE/SE standard radio dash bezel to replace the RF one. It is not difficult to do. A number of people here (myself included) have changed the Rockford HU for a more useful aftermarket one.

In that case I guess I could hit up an LE 4WD, change out the RF HU, and then the bedliner when (not if) it starts going funky. Alternatively, leave off the airbags and the SE would perhaps do me okay. Cloth is better than *unheated* leather in the winter, but that heat really helps take the edge off =0)

Thanks for clarifying. My local dealer where I bought the Murano, they barely even speak frickin' English and don't seem to know the ins and outs of the cars - I have corrected them on Murano stuff once or twice already. Couple nice guys there tho, including a great service guy.

It would be a mistake for you to think that everyone who has the bedliner has had problems with it.

Sounds like you could use a base LE model. If I were to do it again I would get the base LE (4X4) no offroad pkg and go aftermarket with the Navi & stereo. I wouldn't worry about the factory spray in liner either. I have a 4/04 model and have no problems with it. I think Nissan should have the bed prep procedure down by now! are you looking for an 04 or 05? Good luck.

Edit: I would get the Big Tow as well if you plan to tow things.

Thanks Shark - I think that's the conclusion I came to. Heh, my girlfriend is trying to convince me to give the Murano at least until its first anniversary before trading it away, but who knows what the 05 increase will be. Then again, I could wait til they're blowing out 04 stock toward the year end.

As for the Big Tow, I've never needed to tow anything, but my last pickup had a towing package and that was a godsend in terms of the extra cooling system capacity and heavy duty bits under the hood. So I may opt for it anyway.

And it looks like Side Airbags even on 04 require some weird package dependents. Strange.
