Shakedown cruise!

Well in about an hour I'm taking off for our first trip with the new truck and trailer. Trailer is a 24 fot Zepplin with a small side out.

Good luck on your trip-- let us know how it does. I've pulled a heavy trailer with my 4x4 LE twice and have been very pleased-- even with the gas mileage.

Is it wrong that Tom decided to use his money on the truck and the trailer and not the sprinklers???
Have fun on the Trip...

Speaking of cruise, does anyones cruise control act funny going down hill, mine seem to flake the engine on downhill slopes. I have to turn if off or it drives me crazy(crazier).

gizmoii-- yea-- that's been noticed before. Read this thread... Drive train clunk

post #67 in that thread specifically mentions the cruise control/transmission hunting

I've installed JetTech's solution from that thread, and as far as I can tell, my issue with the transmission hunting on downhills has been just about fully resolved. (it's hard to tell-- I live in florida, near the beach. No hills). The improvement in overall handling from those spring helpers is tremendous.

First had to park on the lawn as the storage space we rented isn't eady yet & since a new lawn is going in I said what the heck!

On the way out I had a lot of bounce with the trailer but since the distance wasn't to far lived with it. On the return trip I took up another link on the hitch bars and that seemed to taken care of that. Our roads can be wavey in spots all in all we had a good time, this was our first trip out with this group, they are from the local Elk's lodge which we just rejoined and at 63 the wife and I are some of the younger ones
