I know I have had a very similar post before but... I wanted to post this poll so please don't hate me.
I have a question for all of the great minds out there on this Titan forum. I am a recent college graduate with a good job and have finally saved up enough to afford my first car. This is where the decision comes in, I have made a list of cars and narrowed it down to four possible choices. I wish to hear other peoples' opnions on the cars left on my list. The decision comes down to a 2005 Mustang GT, Nissan Altima 3.5SE, Honda Accord V-6, or a Nissan Titan. I have decided that I can wait as long as February to make the purchase. My current car is reliable, but possess all the exictment of plain oatmeal. I want something more exciting, being young and single now seems to be the perfect time for a vehicle with some excitment.
Well if you NEED a truck get the Titan. If you WANT a truck get a Titan. If you want a car I would go with the Accord. Also, you may want to check out the Acura TSX or the TL. These are all fine choices IMO.
BTW, you may want to let us know what you plan to use the car for.

The main use for the vehicle would be Driving to work, but thats a mile up the road. I have always wanted a truck or a sporty driving car, but as for need I'm not sure I exactly need a truck. It seems as my main use would be moving people with the truck
I also just graduated from college and I purchased my titan last month. I looked into the v6 accord nav stick, acura tl, toyota 4 door tacoma, and the titan. I have owned a small truck in high school, and I currently also own a 89 honda civic. Some things to consider: Fun factor? mustang. Economy? honda. Moving people? altima/titan. Towing? titan. Moving any time? titan. new house/remodeling? titan. performance? mustang/altima/honda/titan. Another example... I bought a tv at costco and couldnt even take it home because it wouldnt fit in my car . I didnt trade my honda in (exitment of oatmeal as well) and I save around $300-500 a year in insurance by insuring 2 cars instead of just the titan + I have 2 cars! If your car is reliable, and I assume its paid for, you might just keep it. The bottom line is are you a truck guy or a car guy? I love the perfomance of cars, but there is something about owning a truck as bad *** as a titan. Looking down on little cars, and tearing around with one of the biggest V8's around doesnt hurt the confidence either... look out big three. Nuf said.
If your looking for the better gas mileage go with the accord or the altima. I think the cool points would come with the mustang or the titan. Brother has a mustang, good for going point a to b fast but not much moving anything other than him and a bag to the gym. I had to use my titan to help when he bought his 32 inch TV. The Titan has the cool truck points. There is always something you can do to it to make it "yours" and not spend a lot. I don't think you can go wrong with it.

One point about the mustang- the back seat is not even designed for little kids to ride in. My best friend has one, and When someone rides there they turn sideways. 2 people back there is out of the question. However damn those 2005's look sick!
if you commute alot get a acura tl or the altima I dont like the accords too much (the engines are blah)
but dont make the mistake I made I had a mustang (not a gt though) and while I loved it--really loved it---when you friends travel, or you need to move your new big screen ( as you know you are getting one--smile)--sedans are not the greatest
and NOTHING hits the resale hell hole like a used mustang-and ohh the iunsurance will hurt on that GT
A elder in my family once told me when I left college to get truck and I didnt listen as I WANTED A SPORTS CAR
but boy do I wish I had listened--you get more use out of a truck as single young dude
but in all honesty if you have the money to buy a 25k-30k car right out of college I STRONGLY suggest buy the house or condo first--keep your old car and in two year rap the benefits of your wonderful equity (youd be amazed how much it is and get an escalade while all your friends are struggling to get into the eve escalating housing market
but hey thats practical and that is exactly WHAT I DIDNT DO out of college juswish I would ahve listened

in your case i would go with a car. mustangs are sweet. not worth it or you to buy a huge truck if you are just commuting to work. do you "need" a truck? if not i think you would one day have envy over the guy pulling up in a bad a$$ GT. definitly more fun in those summer months too. then again depending on where you live, it would suck in the snow.
I have a v-6 Accord along with my Titan. The 240 H.P. V-6 is silky smooth. The Honda is a terrific all around car. If Honda ever builds a full-size truck I may have to give it a try. I was not impressed with the prototype Honda truck and was not willing to wait on it, so I bought the Titan.
Just graduated college myself and was faced w/ this similar situation. But it came easier with the choice of a truck since I work for a residential builder and am on site most of the week.
Anyway, your car choices kinda vary. I dont recommend the Mustang just because while it will be fun to drive, it will drop in resale value like every american car plus with my experience with american cars they tend to not be too reliable.
With the choice of a Honda, look at Acura. Do you seriously like the Accord, c'mon the 4 door is kinda ugly. I honestly have to say I like the civics more and that takes a lot for me to say that.
So I guess that leaves the Altima which I didnt really look at or even think of back when looking at cars.
I myself am still in love with the Acura TL.
Next on my list is definitely a house, SMOKETITAN gives advice on that like my mother and grandmother...it's slowly turning into a buyers market for real estate.
Wow, thanks alot for the great response so far! I have been thinking since I made my post that maybe I have been to quick to close the door on other models. What would be some other reccommended cars? I do have a couple of things I do need in a car though: 1. no small cars, I'm a tall guy I don't fit in small cars, and yes I have tried. 2. I want something with some excitment, my Camry is just so bland it almost puts me to sleep. 3. I want some power. 4. Its gotta look good
G35 AWD Sedan, Maxima, Altima, Subaru Legacy are also ones to consider. There are too many things that need to be answered by you for any of use to recommend.
Example: Do you own a house? If not, your going to want one so I would recommend an Altima or an Accord. Personally I don't like the Accords styling so I would choose the Altima in this situation. If you make enough money for both and are planning on moving within a couple years, the Titan would definately be my choice for it's utility. I can't tell you how much I've needed a truck over the years for hauling plants, tv's, furniture, etc. If you can tell us your 5 year plans (marriage? house?) we could better assist you in making a major decision.
P.S. The Altima SE-R will be out soon. The Altima has the same engine as the Maxima. There are quite a few mods out there to make these 4 door beasts fly, to include a stage II turbo from SSR-Engineering. Nothing like seeing a mustang or camaro owner with drop jaw as you beat him at the track with kids seats in the back

I suppose I needed to add a couple of things. 5. I plan on spending about 25,000 dollars on the vehicle give or take a thousand. 6. I do plan on buying a house in about two years, but I have a separte fund in which I am saving for that so I would not be blowing all my savings on a vehicle. 7. I'm single, It'll be at least a few years until I'm married and several years until I have kids, this vehicle will be likely traded off before kids at least. I hope this helps a little
Ah, key information..SINGLE. Now you have to decide what type of women you like, country gals..get the truck. Sophisticated country girls..get the Mustang (the '05's are awesome looking. Don't hink of it as a vehicle...think of it as a magnet!
