how much fluid

i changed my rear diff fluid, i used royal purple 75w90 and the manual calls for 3 3/4 pints which is almost 2 quarts. i read posts on here where people are puttin 2 1/2 quarts or filling till it runs out of the hole. i put the 3 3/4 pints in and can touch it with my finger. just wondering why people are puttin more than recomended? is the manual wrong?

Smooth,
I'm positive that whatever the manual for 2x4 rear diff specified, it ended equating to 68 oz or 2 full quarts plus 4 oz. Not sure where the 3 3/4 pints is listed.

titanwild you are right. just did some comparison. my truck was built 3/04, my dads was built 8/04. my manual says 3 3/4 pint and his says 4 1/4 pints. So somewhere along the lines nissan changed, so why didnt they inform me or send me a new owners manual.

OK, mystery solved! In any case, fill the diff until fluid just starts to run out, then plug it up. On mine that was almost exactly the specified 4 1/4 pints.

Nissan is really in the ditch as far as Titan/Armada communication is concerned. They obviously weren't ready. Too bad, cost them a lot of credibility.
Thanks,
Dale
