I need some help guys. I want to get either xm or sirus for my truck. I have an se that does not have a sat button. What would I need to do to be able to get one of those systems and how is the sound quality?
I have an SE (that has the SAT button but I don't have it hooked into that option...yet anyways) and I got an XM Roady 2. It is mounted where the 4WD controls are usually located - I have 4X2. I personally went with XM because it seemed better to have cost @ 9.95/mo, but of course saving $3 isn't all that big of a deal, but I still prefered it. They seem to have a good selection for what I want to hear, but I don't yearn for anything more. Some will say go with Sirrus cause of the sports broadcasted, but in my opinion, choose the one that fits what YOU want. Compare the two, see which one has more of something that you might want. I enjoy my XM immensely. Anyway, hope that helps

SIRUS! I have Sirus in mine and love it!... plug into aux and power and you are set! If you have no aux then get the direct plug in to your fm antenna. Great service best 150.00 I have spent in ages. Mike :-)

By aux do you mean the Aux in the front of the radio or back? What unit did you buy and where did you place it? Pics?
My Roady is plugged into the AUX jack on the dash. The output is equal to CD quality and the few times that I have switched back to FM, it sounded like it did prior to getting the radio TSB done. it is mounted where the 4WD controls would normally be (I have a 4x2). Infact I just finished routing the wires for the antenna - ran it down through the 3rd brake light (I can confirm the size to remove the nuts is 8mm deep socket), through the headliner and then under the plastic along the door and routed up under the dash, coming out right under the ignition point.

GM has heavily invested in XM, price is $9.95/mo, 2,500,000 subscribers, available in AVIS rentals.
Dainler-Chrysler has invested in Sirrus, price is $12.95/mo, 600,000 subscribers, available in Hertz rentals.
Both are losing billions but the money is on Sat Radio being the future. Sirrus just signed Howard Stearn for $500,000,000 for five years. he won't be on for fifteen months.
I think I may end up going with XM. Both have pretty much what Im going to be listening to so Im going with XM cause it's a little cheaper.
I DONT have the SAT button on my Rockford Fosgate system. Can I still get the XM kit that titanparts247.com is selling? How easy is it to install? Does it use a seperate face piece to change channels, etc. or do I use the existing radio face to do all that? I have been told that FM modulated systems sound poor so I want to stay away from that.
I would rather get an XM system that will allow me to use the existing face so I can still use my steering wheel controls to change channels, etc.
I would appreciate some recommendations on other systems too!

Nick, My RF doesnt have sat button either but when you plug in the OEM XM or sirius it will show up when you cycle through the FM/AM button. The OEM is a easy addition, the harness is taped underneath the dash. Untape it, plug it in to satellite unit and plug in antenna. Thats it. I got mine from Jaime at 247.
So if you have the SAT button on your radio, how is the functionality with the factory unit? It doesn't seem like the LED resolution on the 6 disc changer is very good, does that make it hard to change the satellite channel?
