Question Power Window Lock Button

I just noticed last night that the power window lock button on the divers door didn't light up when I turned the lights on. Has anyone else noticed this?

Should this button light up when the lights are turned on?

no. I also do not like the fact that it also locks out the drivers control of the passenger and back windows.

All cars with power windows do that - my Civic did it, my Tundra did it - not just a Nissan thing.

No light in that one, I guess they figured nobody would need to lock their doors after dark?

When you put the window lock on, it disables the driver from controlling any window except the driver's window. When you switch the lock off, it re-enables you to control each window from the driver's switches.

** This has been the same way on ALL the vehicles that I have owned (Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc.)

Well not ALL vehicles do the same. I'm not sure if they still do it but....domestics (Chrysler, Olds) used to allow use of the drivers controls while using the window lock.

My 02 F-150 did not do it. I could lock out everyones windows and still control them from my controls.

I was the first on this forum to notice the light not on the button and showed the problem to my dealership. They replaced it not knowing it was not supposed to light up. Duh!
