Question Levelling Kit

I just got a Titan last Friday. It's my first full size truck. I was wondering what a levelling kit is/ I assume it raises the front end to match the rear. What doea this do for the performance and ride comfort ?
Thanks,
Colin

A leveling kit (for trucks) is used for towing or heavy hauling. It keeps the rear end from sagging under load.

Hmmm, some confusion here when you say leveling kit. Are you alluding to what TitanicSE addressed, or are you talking about purely cosmetic kit available from Prerunner and others that adds height to front coil assembly to "level" the truck with the rear??????

When you see most of the guys on here talking about leveling kits it usually means a kit that lifts the front end of the truck to match the height of the rear. It makes the truck look level. The 4x2's especially have a pretty big rake to them. (sloped to the front) I think the leveling kit makes them look great. I just wonder about those that haul trailers does it ride funny now that the front end is up higher and you have a big load pulling behind does it make the front even higher and ride bad.

I would suggest this as far as the front leveling kit is concerned. Get it if you use the truck primarily on the street as it adds a nice visual impact to the truck overall. However if you plan to haul or drag anything of more than a few hundred pounds, stick with the stock setup. The reason being that any weight added to the bed will make the truck list to the rear which to me looks kinda funnyand to the man it looks like your truck is overloaded when it probably isn't.

Capice?

I see so many stock f-250's with the *** end lower then the front and it pisses me off. It is a 3/4 ton truck and even with small trailers or i've seen them empty, the rear sits lower then the front. It does make the truck look bad. Is this a common problem on the truck or are they just abused by the owners here on long island.

Capice?

Do you think rear helper springs would help in a situation where you were towing/hauling and also had the leveling kit installed?

Probably would be a good compromise. BUt if you got the money, go for the gas adjustable with the compressor and you can dial in any height( within the safe limits of the system), you want whenever you want.

I know I see so many Big 3 trucks with what look like modest loads, all squat down in the back. Not a pretty picture for a work truck
