Nissan Titan Crisis!!!!!!

Way home from work Friday, some gal in a sedan kicked up a chunk of board that flipped up in the air and danced across my hood. Left two obscure dents and one munga-wunga on the crease that runs front to back of the hood on the passenger side.
God hates me.

Boone that sucks man. If ya got her plate number you might be able to make a claim against her insurance. But, since you probably didn't, ugh...replacement time. Sorry to hear. I know what its like to have your 'baby' damaged.

You could be a real punk and blame it on someone else like a phone company or something. Thats really bad though and if I were you...I would just bite down and replace or repair it.

If the paint isnt cracked or the metal isnt creased you could get a dent doctor. They have a chemical process that will remove alot of dents without major body work. Just a thought.

Reminds me of a similar incident years ago. Driving my beater '69 Skylark. Dustdevil picks up a refrigerator box....big one....and it starts flying around but on the other side of the road. I figure, "it's not moving towards me, wow, impressive the power of mother nature, oh wait, it's starting to come towards me....ACK!!!!"

It flew across the hood and snapped off the radio antenna! It was downright funny. I had to pull over and laughed my a$$ off in my typical semi-psychotic way. Oh well, I wanted a rubber aftermarket antenna anyway.

Sucks hugely about your Titan getting smited. Dent doctor would be my first call.

Uhm.....why don't you just call your insurance agent and tell them what happened? Thats sort of why you HAVE insurance. Reason i say this is that most plans have a comprehensive portion that covers things that don't fit in other categories.

Example.....i got a batch of bad gas from a particular station that clogged my fuel pump and injectors. Cost 1500 for repairs, pump, fuel rail, and injector cleaning. It cost me 50 bucks, insurance covered the rest.

My dad backed out and cut his truck short and snagged our old caddi on his truck, dented and creased the bed and rear of cab.....insurance covered it.

Dood, call them, if they are worth a cup of warm pee, they will gladly help you out. Don't worry about creases or anything, if its not extensive enough, they will and CAN pull it out, you will never know it was damaged. My truck was recently damaged in the parking lot, creased and dented in the rear of the bed. It wasnt extensive enough, and the P&B shop pulled it all out and repainted.

Don't fret, its all fixable, and hopefully it won't cost much. That thing is not yours or the car in front of you's fault.

Chris,
I don't know how they treat it where you live, but here in Tennessee,
unless you can prove that the projectile actually came from the other
vehicle, and wasn't something already laying in the road, you are SOL
on making a claim against the other driver.

Coach,
Look at it this way. That chunk of wood could just have easily been
a piece of steel, and could also have gone through the windshield,
instead of the path it took. Ever seen any of those freak accidents
on the TV?

Maybe God is watching out for you! Regardless, I'd say "Thank you, Lord"!

Use your comprehensive coverage

As stated by another, your comprehesive covers this type of damage rather than collision. If you ran over it, it's collision, but if it was airborn, it's comprehesive.

My insurance company just picked up $5,500 in damage on my wife's Beemer caused by road rash when we had it repainted. Most of it was sand and stone damage to the head lights, wind shield, and front end paint. Most people don't know this. It was my body shop that said they would pay for most of the paint job. Car looks brand new.
