Look at what I was quoted for dual exhaust

I bought the muffler and x pipe online. will be hear friday. Called the exhaust shop to make an appointment. Same place I had my last exhaust job done. About a year ago it cost about $350. It was from the resonator back, single pipe. That was just labor, but they do a really good job. So I wanted to stay with what I knew. (Mighty Muffler in Aston PA if anyone lives in Philly area). So the guy over the phone asks what Im driving and what setup I want. Told him x pipe w/ dual in dual out. He asked where I heard that setup from. Told him internet. He said TitanTalk? Shocked me. He said he just did his friends Titan. True dual with Borla mufflers and X pipe. He said its the best setup which I agree with but to expensive probably. He wanted $940 for full exhaust w/tips and labor. WTF!! That is ridiculous. $840 for dual in/out. $540 for single pipe. Im reading people on hear getting a full exhaust for mid $300s. Im not spending $800. The last time i was there they didnt have true madrel bends either. i doubt that has changed too. It hasnt been that long. I live just over the bridge in Jersey now and called a place. they said about $200 for the labor. Much more reasonable. Will be going in on Monday. Wish me luck.

But maybe the performance will be worth the few extra dollars. Just make sure they
do a good job, see too many with broken hangers causing the exhaust to rattle and flop around. Hard to find people who care about quality!

meh, that's what i was charged. unless you have a bunch of shops in your town, you will be SOL. i had one to go with that was willing to go custom and knew what they were doing.

if only i had my own shop with a bender and a TIG machine...

I'm not sure, but suspect that my muffler shop reads the exhaust posts on TitanTalk (Hi Kirk!) They have their own web site and are pretty technically current.
Anyone else think posting our pipe costs is causing escalation??

I wouldnt doubt it. If i had a shop i probably would search the web for new models and most popular cars that get exhaust. But those prices seemed crazy. Like i said, ive read people on hear getting it done for way less. those prices should be for true bends. I cant even entertain the idea of mandrel bends know. Aggie, how much did you spend, and what set up did you get?
