Almost ready to buy...

I am in the process of selling my truck (Dodge POS) and if I cannot get more than what the dealer is willing to give for a trade, I will end up trading. Its an 04 LE CC with off road pkg., big tow, and utili-trac. It does NOT have the Nav or the rear DVD player. After adding it all up(and subtracting for rebates), I am looking at a cash price of about $34,500.00. If I trade, I get a small break on the tax. My thinkin' is, is I can abide a slightly higher cash price if the financing rate is low enough (1.9%). Having not shopped another dealer for competitive pricing, I don't have anything to compare it to.

What do yall think? After reading how everyone (or at least some) are getting $500 under and a $1000 under invoice, what should I consider as a "good" price on the truck. Much thanks in advance..

Well, with not knowing too much about your exact configuration of what you're looking at, I went to www.nissanusa.com, and ran through the price config. I assume with the offroad & big tow, you're looking at a 4x4.

This is what I came up with...
2004 titan KC 4x4 Base msrp....31900
offroad with 4x4 ...900
bigtow with 4x4 ...500
destination/handling ...650
TOTAL.... $33950.

DUDE-- YOU'RE BEING OVERCHARGED $550!!!! THAT COULD BE 15 TRIPS TO THE GAS STATION!!!!

OF course, I calculated based on my zip, and didn't include taxes, trade, title.... but that seems a bit high for this late in the season.

Additionally, take a look at the build month/yr which is on a sticker on the inside of the driver's side door. The sticker is the lower one, and has a big vertical barcode on it. The top line says manufactured by nissan... but the second says the month/year of manufacture. If that is greater than 2 months, then you have additional leverage in that vehicle, because it's costing the dealership $$$ to keep that on their lot.

As I said, I don't know all your figures, but invoice price is a really flexible point at this point in the year.

additionally, I don't think that the config price that I posted above includes --any-- rebates, so I would really scrutinize your offer from the dealer.

Not being a wise-acre but I said in the thread it is a 2004 LE CC that I am looking at. It stickers at around $36, 500.00. I don't have a clue what the invoice price is but I do know it was built in May 2004. THanks for the input JAOHN. I guess I wouldn't mind knowing what the average invoice price on an LE CrewCab is. THanks again again I am not trying to be rude.

I've talked to a few guys that bought CC SE's and said that they got the dealer to take off 5 to 6 thousand off. There is a dealership around here that is advertizing 5k off the LE so I called them to ask them how much they would be willing to take off an SE and they said at least 4k, and that was over the phone. There was a guy that posted on here about a month ago that got the exact truck that I am getting next month and he said they took 6k off for him. I hope to get around that price. Wish me luck.

This late in the game, I would wait for the 05s to come out. Seems they may have fixed a couple of issues on the 04s and you get the power rear glass and assisted tailgate.

I did profile a KC LE, but you're looking at a CC version. I just tried to profile a 4x4, and I tried to re-profile it again based on a CC version, and the website is acting oddly right now. So it's a bit odd right now, but feel free to look for yourself.

I also agree with the others, that "invoice" should be deducted by 4-5K about now.

The Nissanusa website gives msrp. To figure invoice prices, go to www.edmunds.com and you should be able to profile the vehicle from there. Or, try www.kbb.com There's quite a few other sites out there that will also give you configured invoice prices.

I would wait for the 05's, but my budget needs that "end of the year" rebate on the 04's. This is the only way I can afford to have a Titan and I have to have one, so..........................the 04 is pretty much my only option.

I went to 'http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/new/reviews/full/index.cfm/id/37451' and got the following dealer invoice prices:

o Titan LE 4x4 CC $30,914
o Off-Road w/4x4LE $ 478
o Big Tow w/4x4LE $ 520
o Destination Charge $ 650

Total $32,562 Dealer Invoice plus tax, title, license and without any rebates, etc.

Sounds to me like this dealer is quite a bit high on what he will sell you the truck. My thoughts!

One dealer around here advertises $6,000 off MSRP. So an LE CC 4x4 with off-road and big tow would be $30,350 according to edmunds.com.

The dealers and/or Nissanusa is really trying hard to get us behind the wheel of an '04 ! I 've only started looking at Titans recently and really started to like them. So I went to my dealer here and they only have 3 left . And of course they have no clue when the '05's are coming in.

But after reading the upgrades and available pkg.s for the SE in '05 I'm going to wait..

I dont know how applicable this is to your current situation but I'm living in the Islands and going home in 3 weeks, I purchased a Titan via internet with a local dealer (Upstate NY) after driving one (and the big 3) a few months ago while I was home. I purchased the SE Galaxy Black Crew Cab, 4x4 with the Big Tow, Offroad, Fosgate, power captains, bedliner, Elocker etc etc etc and took the 1% instead of the rebate and paid just over 30k and change. I didnt get leather and the backup radar thing or nav system but I'm pretty sure just about everything else is on it. The build date is Aug 04 if it matters. (It did to me after reading the posts here) I had a friend who is a reliable mechanic go over it before the sale just to make sure. So just a reference point. I dont feel overcharged as I shopped it at 4 dealerships between AlbanyNY and Springfield Mass. On a general note thanks to all of you who post here, this board is a godsend, I will post when I get my Truck and see how it pans out.

just joined the club

I just picked up an 04 LE CC 4x4. The 04 4x4 CC's are a bit scarce right now, but if you can find the one you want on the lot, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to get it at or near invoice + get the rebate. Just tell them you could do the costco thing and get it for invoice + 500 and they'll be willilng to deal. Go to edmunds.com to find invoice pricing.

THanks for all the great feedback. It looks like I am gonna have to take off the kitt glove and get medieval on the dealer! Just kidding. I am going to attempt to renegotiate, I beleive. I wonder if straight cash would get the price really low. I'll keep yall informed. I called another dealer in my area and they have the same truck in a different color for 2 grand less on the sticker. WHat's up with that? THe other dealer told me that if you don't get the $2000 cash back you can qualify for the special financing rate of 1-3% and that may be why he the dealer I am currently delaing with is able to set the purchase price @ $32,000 + tax. I dunno. My head hurts and I am off to bed. Thanks again...

Dude, your getting screwed by the dealer. Invoice on that truck is $33,641. With the dealer holdback charge your looking at about $33,200. Minus the $2000 rebate. I would offer $31,200
