Ride height question????

I have CC 4x4 with Off road and Big Tow. According the technical service manual FSU-20 Front suspension section page 20 you can check your ride height by measuring from the ground up the wheel well arch.

According to this chart my vehicle should be 39.3" back, and 37.6" front. In real life I have 39.125 back and 36.125 front.

Is this worth complaining about to the MFG or am I going to get the ole' that is normal settling speech...????

Tires are even slightly overinflated for gas mileage......

This perplexes me......any chance Nissan has some bad front springs? I am now on my third set of struts (12,000 miles) so I am trying to figure out why mine is so ugly....

Can some of you with the same config measure yours and let me know what you have? Not interested if you have any sort lift...sorry.

In a word, NO!!!!!! Less than 1/4 in off on the rear, and 1-1/2 in front? Hows the truck loaded? WHY overinflate the tires? What options does the truck have? AND last of all, what diff does it make?????? Those #s you gave are spec's, ALL spec's have a tolorance!!!!!!!!!

The truck is sitting on a level cement pad...(my garage) it has a full tank of fuel and is a SE trim level. The reason i ask is because when my first set of struts exploded and they replaced them I felt like I was gunna slide out of the seat all the time.....even the dealer said it looked like it was sitting low in the front. The first struts detonated at about 11,000 miles. The second set lasted only 200 miles.......the third set is in now for about 80 miles and I feel like the drivers side is starting to go AGAIN!!!

I am trying to figure out if the spring settling could be the cuplrit behind the strut problem. evey time this happens it is two or three days in a rental while they work...

The difference it makes is that something aint right and I like this truck so I really don't want to pursue lemon laws...I am actually trying to help Nissan!!

Specs have tolerances you are correct! but why is the rear within 1/8" and the front is off 1.5"!!!????

Update.........
For those of you whom measure and post......can you also post the Born on date from inside the drivers door? Mine is 1-04
The ironic thing is that my front is within .125" of a 4x2.... I wonder if they put the wrong springs in? Is that even possible?

we'll see if you say that about yourself after YOUR third set of struts.....

If the technical manual gives a spec and it isnt right, then maybe that could be investigated? Tolerances you say???? what the heck good is a spec if all you are going to say is that it is within tolerance? according to the manual the unloaded spring dimension is 14" +- .1" I would expect the loaded tolerance to be somewhat close to the unloaded tolerance wouldnt you?

The back seems fine.......the front looks like it is WAY down....it never use to look this way that is why I have asked fellow members to look......I wasnt looking for a psychiatric evaluation...

Sounds like they put the wrong springs in or the wrong struts.... You do have the Rancho front struts, correct?

Pisswilly, I'd say...mention it to your dealer....see what they say. You're preaching to a choir of people who haven't had the same experience as you. Yeah, they're being kinda rude in their responces but...stick to your dealer. If you have a question...ask it! It's your truck, and if YOU feel there's something wrong, speak up! You paid good money for it. What's the worst that can happen? The dealer says there's nothing wrong?...then you'll feel better.

Rancho struts......offroading no. The only offroading this truck ever has and ever will see is an occasional fire lane in northern wisconsin for some hunting. certainly nothing extreme.

I have talked to the dealer about this earlier this week. I had them measure it and they said it measured fine??? I doubt they actually measured it or they looked at the wrong chart for the spec.

If ALL CC 4x4 titans with the 285x75x17 wheels and tires are this measure then I would be forced to accept as normal. If all of yours were an inch higher...than I have some ammunition to go back to them with.

Did I mention that I have 33x12.50x17's on it? They are only about .25" larger in diameter than stock but if anything should make my wheel arch even taller not shorter.
