Hi again all, I'm back. For those who don't remember me, I bought a 2004 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 on September 25th. I really wanted the Titan but a lack of dealer support in my area helped make my decision. Anyhow, the Ram know has about 1200 miles on it. Dodge states MPG will be best after 4000 miles, I'm not holding my breath though. So far, in combined city/highway driving, my best is 15.6 MPG. Around town, it gets 11 MPG consistently and on the highway my best so far is 17.0 MPG. I'll just have to wait and see what happens. So far the only problem I've had is the front driver's seat sounds like it has a loose spring in it, it makes a boing sound whenever I sit down. I just hope nothing pokes me in the butt. I'll check back now and then if you're interested, I've been lurking around even after buying the Dodge. Take care.
Thanks for sharing. It's nice to get some friendly feedback from other truck owners. I'm interested in all types of automobiles, not just the one I have. I've gotten everything from 8mpg towing on the interstate to 16 mpg on the highway unloaded. I have a heavy foot, so can't complaign, and my numbers should be worse than average.
Thank you also for the friendly way you told us about it. You're welcome back any time!

Just picked up my Titan this past Monday in Tenn, and drove it home 700+ miles to PA. Mostly up and down highway driving @ 75-80 MPH with the tailgate down, and the bed extender out. According to the Nav MPG we got 17.6 on the way home. Super impressice truck, glad we didn't get the F-150. Going up and down the mountains running 70-75 in 5th gear never kicked down a gear even on the big hills. My Tahoe would NEVER have done that.
Mileage sounds pretty decent compared to some stories I've heard. My Titan is now consistently at 15mpg commute and 17.5 highway, after 7000 miles.
Check in more often. (Hope the spring doesn't let go when you're in the chair!!)

You know, its kinda funny... you see on this board and other boards (except this thread of course which has shown the utmost of civility) pure animosity and seething between the Titan owners and Hemi owners. However, where I live, it seems that Hemi drivers and Titan drivers exchange civil headnods with one another and just seem to accept the cold war that exists between the Titan and Hemi. I had a guy in a Hemi pull up next to me, nod, and say "nice truck" and I did the same -- the light turned green and we both politely 1/4 opened our throttles and gingerly pulled away nose to nose.
Its nice to see the civil exchange in this thread and I appreciate the comparative info for us all Red Rider.

So far, with 650 miles, mostly city driving, I'm up to 13.6 MPG. I expect it to get up higher with a few thousand miles on the engine.

Make sure there isn't a TSB out for the seat. I had this problem on my 2k1 Durango and they fixed it per a TSB.
I had a 2000 Ram Quad Cab 4x4 with the 360 V8 (5.9 for you metric folks). That thing was a gas hog. It also got 11mpg in the city, with the added penalty of only getting 13 on the highway. Best I ever got was 13.5. To add insult to injury, it wasn't that fast.
Still, I liked the truck, but due to a divorce I had to trade it off after only 6000 miles on a Frontier, which I found ultimately to be too small for my 6'7" frame and traded it off on a F150 a year later which on Friday got traded off on my Titan. lol...
