Child seats in KC Titan

I've been an avid reader on this board for awhile and am seriously looking at moving up from my '02 Frontier CC to a Titan. My question is - does anyone have any experience using child seats in the back of a KC? According to the specs from Nissan, it looks like there should be more room in the back of a Titan KC than in my Frontier CC. It's a little snug with the seats in the back of the Frontier and I wouldn't mind the extra room. I haven't had a chance to get the car seats to the dealer to try it yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Trust me and buy the CC Titan. All the room helps tremendously. My kids can no longer kick the back of the seats!

i've used both a Graco infant (base stays in the car) and a convertible seat in the King Cab, both work well. The latch system in the KC is very easy to get to...makes installing the child seat very easy. And the rear doors opening super wide makes it very easy to get the baby in and out of the truck.

That's what I was originally thinking - it's the main reason I got my Frontier in a CC to begin with. Thanks.

I have no problem with the booster seat my 3 year old sits in. We also took a 9 hour trip (one way) with my other 2 kids (total of 5 people) in my KC and we had no problems.

Get the CC if you have kids.

My 5 and 3 year olds use a booster and it works great. But the other day, my wife had both boosters so I put my 3 year old in his old car seat. It does not have an adjustable back (so its made for 2-5 year olds) and I couldn't get it to sit just right in the back of my KC.
The car seat is made with the back slightly reclined, which doesn't fit the contours of the KC rear seat back which is vertical. So, he was pitched a little forward and was very high on the back seat. I probably won't use that seat again unless I'm in a bind.
Take your kids car seats to the dealer for your test drive and try it out. Although the CC has a lot more room, it might have too much room. It might be hard to reach back to them from the front seat, if you were trying to pass them something.

Hi, I test drove the KC with my kids car seats. One was rear facing. The front seats had to be moved WAY too uncomfortably foward. This also makes for a danger with the airbag. I chose the CC. That was what I really wanted anyway. Virus is right about all the room. The CC is definately the way to go with kids in my opinion.

I have used a child's booster seat with my 6 yr old grand-daughter in my king cab. No problem at all, plenty of room for her and no need to move front seats forward.

Thanks for the input - I still have to go and test drive. My preference is a CC, I was just wondering if I could save a little, but I'm going to have 1 rear facing seat for another 9-10 months. I'll have to try them out and see.

I have a KC and do not like child seats in the back. The seats are too vertical and when the kid falls asleep he hang's forward. Oh and I trade up from a CC Frontier also. The seat fit better in the Frontier. Just go for a test drive and put the car seat in.

I agree with Grok. Just take the car seats to a dealership and try it out. I have the KC because I need the longer bed for work. My daughter who is almost 4 and disabled rides in a specialized car seat in the back sometimes.

The pros of this are the wide opening doors for entry/exit and the captain chairs so she can extend her legs further forward (I put her seat in the center for safety reasons). There is also room for a diaper bag and other stuff to go under the back seat.

The cons are that the KC back seat is very vertical and unless you can adjust the tilt on the car seat base, that could present a problem for the comfort of your child. Putting the seat on the sides will allow the child to be able to kick the back of the captain chairs and if it is a front bench seat then they can probably kick the seat back even if they are in the center.

Hope this helps. The Titan has been good to me thus far.
