Thumbs up 2005's on the lot

I was bored and drove by the Nissan dealer in Murfreesboro, TN. They had three 2005 Titans on the lot. I was suprised to see them. I didn't think they were out yet. I looked at a red one. Played with the tailgate a little to check out the power assist and noticed the nice rear power window. Everything looked good except the new emblems on the front doors. In huge letters it says NISSAN TITAN. It's cool that it says Titan now instead of Endurance, but I think they should have left it where it was and kept it smaller. The truck had the 18" wheels and they were kinda smoke color. Looked really good. It also had the steel interior which I liked. Seeing the Titan in red did remind me of a Ram though. But it still looked good.

You didn't happen to notice what brand of tires they had on them and the size did you?

[quote=GalaxyTitan] In huge letters it says NISSAN TITAN.

Actually, I believe it reads, "V8 TITAN".

So how did the tailgate lift? Did the tailgate use a torsion spring like Ford? Get any pictures?

No I didn't get any pictures. It does say V8 Titan not Nissan Titan. Oops. Yes I am sure that they are 2005's. I saw another truck load of them today. I didn't see any helper springs or shocks on the new tailgate. Looked like ours. It was very easy to open and close. You could definately tell it assist you. Here is the dealer info.

Stones River Motors
814 Memorial Blvd
Murfreesboro, TN 37129
Tel. (615) 893-0252
Fax (615) 890-2298

The tire size was 265/70/18 and they were Goodyear Wranglers. Not sure what the 04's have because I have the off road package with the 17's. If you really want, I will go back soon and take a picture.

Take more then one picture! Also, take a note if it is a 4x4, off road and if it has VDC or a locking rear end.

One of my local dealers got 6 Titans in today. Base price is up $100 and Delivery Charge is up $45. I really disliked the darker wheels that have replaced the shinny ones. I think the new wheels dulls the look. I looked at a canteen green with the new dark wheels and it looked like something that belonged to the Army. I am so glad that I did not put a deposit on this truck. The dealer changed his order 6 weeks ago when he heard what I wanted on a 2005 truck so it came in exactly like I planned to purchase, but I wasn't expecting a change to the dark wheels. So I went back to look at his 2004's, but after reading these posts for months, I may rethink the Titan altogether. On the other hand, the new Pathfinder looked nice, at least from the outside.

I was at the dealer today. 5 new 05 Titans, 1 new red Altima SE-R and a whole slew of new 05 Pathfinders. The New Frontier premiers in December and the 05 Xterra soon after...sometime in January.

Maybe they're trying to hide the brake dust? Actually, I might be on to something here.....

The 2005 built info is correct, but all of the photos/interactive vidoes show a 2004 model, not a 2005 like it says it does. Shows that ugly sand interior color, no power window and so forth.

Thanks for the info on the build at nissan usa. I tried it also on Wed but now it worked. I was wanting an 05 le 4x2 CC with big tow sunroof side airbag and dvd. I just noticed that inorder to get the sunroof you now have to get navi, and in order to get the sunroof and captains chairs you have to have navi and dvd. This means the price on the truck i want just increased by 2800 over last year b/c of the new packaging. I think i might just go with the brand new 05 lariat King Ranch. I can get one of those cheaper than the Titan. Anyone else disgusted by the package shuffling. I though they would change it for the better, not for the worst.
