Exclamation xm tuner

I was wondering if someone could give a part# for the factory tuner. I live in Canada and none of the dealers are willing to help me except for one who would help me out if I got a stock number ...... Thanx

Jamie is the rep for the one of the site sponsors http://www.nissanparts247.com/en_US/

they sponsor this site, but pm titanparts1 (jamie) and he'll get you a quote for the parts you need.

All you need is the tuner, antenna, and splitter

In addition to Nissan724, Grubbs Infiniti sells the kit. You do not need the the factory antenna extension or mounting bracket. Bolt the tuner to the back of the knee plate under the steering wheel. Buy any of the new low profile antennas plus a splitter as the tuner has two inputs. XM Fan and My Radio Store have the antennas. Blizsafe, Terk, or whatever you want. I got a Blitzsafe with splitter for $55.

This is really good information for those of you considering Nissan's XM receiver. I originally followed Nissan's instructions, which involved securing the XM receiver to the RF amp bracket. That involves unbolting the gas pedal & adjust assembly & the body control module. Then, when installing amps & speakers, I had to disconnect the RF amp, which involved doing that again. So now, after removing the RF amp, I have the XM receiver installed as suggested in the quoted post. The Nissan XM receiver has only three things you need to connect: the NBUS cable that goes to the head unit, the antenna (via splitter if you use a modern single wire antenna), and a little ground wire. Also, the XM receiver is pretty light in weight. It really shouldn't be that big of a deal to install (as it is a big deal if you do so according to Nissan's instructions).

Also, when installing the antenna, you might consider whether you are going to install amplifiers at some later time, and run your antenna wire accordingly. I initially had the XM antenna wire running down the driver's side. Then, I installed amplifiers, and ran the power cable down the driver's side, and had to move the XM antenna wire (roof mount thru third brake light) over to the passenger's side to keep it away from the power cable. The wire that comes with the little Terk roof mount is very long, so there is no problem with length--you can run the wire pretty much any way you want.

I am thinking of doing this also. Is there a way that we could see some pics? How well does the system work?

i'm going to go sirius but am still up in the air about weather to go OEM via underdash mount (love the clean look but not the lack of scroll or high price). went to circuit city and played with the sportster and loved it. ((downside is having a controller mounted somewhere and figuring out a clean way to mount it, but love the lower price and the way the controller functions)

decisions, decisions decisions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like the clean look and not really to concerned about xm or siruis but man the price is the killer what we need is an electronics wizzard to make an adapter from n-bus to din ...... all he would need is both the stock tuner and a direct tuner from xm and take them both apart ( the wizzard gets the idea ) !!!!!!

I was thinking about this also. The wiring diagram for the NBUS is in the service manual at AV-29. So my question is would this be a simple job like just splicing the NBUS cable to the signal cable/connector of a standard XM receiver, or does Nissan's XM receiver have a chip with some special firmware?
