Unless they deal with the towing/GVW issue, they still will have problems selling it to someone like me. That's exactly the reason I got out of the Tundra in the first place

I still have a few objections with Tundra, those rear drum brakes, their warping front rotors are just as notorious as Titan, and I can't stand the oval interior theme.
They'd had to make some changes to get me to switch. But they seem to know how to screw 'em together.
I don't understand their marketing either, where certain options/packages are only available in certain regions. That'd be another reason I'd pass on it if I couldn't get the equipment/optioning I'd want.

As I mentioned back in April, Toyota is preparing the new Tundra to be a world-beater.
The 2 things that have happened since then are:
1. Gas prices skyrocketed, and 2. Profits shrank for Jap. car makers.
Toyota has since delayed the introduction to mid-late 2006 due to the rapid change in world economics and oil prices. Rest assured though that they are out to top EVERY manufacturer of FULL SIZE trucks.
This thread would give you an idea of the Tundra concept(now slated to come out as a 2007 model):
I just can't knock Toyota. I previously owned one and the Tundra was going to be my next Truck until the Titan came out. I have some close friends that own Tundras and other Toyotas and they have no complaints. I even got to share 1,000 miles in the drivers seat with my friend this summer on a fishing trip to Montana with his Tundra. It was a very comfortable ride and did well off-road and in the mountains. It was like sitting on the couch and watching the trees go by. Can't say anything bad about them. Like Tom said, they know how to screw 'em together. I don't mind the looks of them, but was a little turned off by the rounded front end, oval interior and being a little underpowered for a V-8. I am still of the belief that Toyota makes the most reliable cars around. Statistics have proved it. We shall see what the next Tundra brings...
A lot can happen between now and 2007. Nissan could make changes and add features that still give Toyota a run for its money. Competition is good for all of us.

If you bought the truck to tow, and you don't want a noisy Diesel, you can't beat the Titan. As the others up their HP numbers, so will Nissan Im sure. By the way, the 300HP 6.0 GM engine isn't new. The boss has the GMC Sierra HD with it.

You sound alot like me. When I got my 2002 Tundra, I thought I would have it for quite awhile. I never liked the look of the Titan until closer to June when I really seriously started looking at it more and changed my mind. But I never had one real problem with my Tundra (other than the issue of Toyota putting the wrong size brake components on the 2002). It was an awesome truck with good power for its size. But at the same time I LOVE my Titan - it has in my opinion 10x more options available to it than the Tundra. In a way, when I traded it in for the Titan, it was as if I went from a Geo Metro to a Corvette. Looking back at the Tundra, it just seemed so blah compared to what I had on the Titan, maybe it was just the newness of the Titan but who knows. Anyway, behind Honda, Toyota's are a very reliable vehicle. I think Nissan will get things straightened out with the Titan, just as I feel Toyota got things straightened out with Tundra, as I recall in the first few model years of the Tundra, there were issues as well.

The new Tundra's I'll admit I don't like the look of - the older Tundra's like my 2002 looked good, especially when I put the brush guard on it, but with changing the front to look like more of a Sequoia, which in my opinion makes it look like a '***** truck'
