My first kill was a RC hemi ram with the 20s. Pretty even through three gears then i started pulling from him. I really thought that he would beat the brakes off me.
Nice looking Titan their!! Like I said before. The
20's are for looks but kill performance. I know
of one RC Hemi owner over at HemiTruckClub.com
that is at 6.3 for a 0-60mph. I think he is just
running just a CAI,gears and 17's. Don't think
your Titan would take that RC Hemi. I am
shooting for just breaking into the high 6's for
a 0-60mph time. Would like to get into the high
14's for the 1/4mile. Not a bad feat for sporting
275/65/R20 wheels. I was thinking of 4.56 gears
but gas in Ca. is WAY to high. Just got back from
a trip to Redding and got about 16.8 mpg at 73mph.
Nice truck Hemi4me! I have noticed the same thing. Even though the MSRP may be higher, domestics always have HUGE rebates and the price comes down considerably.
Thanks!! Yes, It is a nice ride. The sticker on it
was $29975 before all the discounts. Has Infinity
7 speaker sound w/full controls on steering wheel.
Power drivers seat, fogs, trip meter, tow package,
Appearence group, 20X9" polished aluminum wheels
(not the chrome clad wheels thatare having peeling
problems) and the Hemi which was a $950 option.
RAM is a lighter 1/2 ton, but it's significantly heavier than the Titan. Even the standard SLT Quad Cab 4.7 4X4 is 5300 lbs. That's ~250 lbs heavier than the Titan's XE Crew Cab 4X4 rating of 5046 lbs.
Ok.....I thought the Titan was heavier than the Ram. Edmunds rates the Titan 4X4 CC at a curb wt of 5341. Nissan's site does not even list the curb weight.
I got my Ram 1500 QC 4x4 slt 5.7 Hemi with some nice options too including Infinity with 6-disc, last week, stickered at about $36,000 - after rebates & a couple of days of negotiating drove it off the lot at $25,500
New Guy here,...I agree with Zardoz and the yangster. Gearing is what it's all about. Own an '03 Ram Hemi w/355's....good for gas, highway, and mileage...but not for racing. The Superchips program helped a bunch by raising speed limiter to 140mph....depends on how far you wanna' go to win.
Ain't figured it this site out yet...'04 Titan KC/LE no mods, and lovin' it!
I don't assume, I know an asshole when I see one. He had it full throttle as anyone within an 1/8 mile could hear. When he fell behind enough, the throttle stopped and he slowed back a lot. So no, I wasn't assuming, Thank You Very Much.
Yes, people do race from behind. Ever watch the Indy 500?
Many asses try the 'come from behind, then pass' routine. Something how you've never seen as it happens here quite frequently. Pehaps you're traffic deprived. That's a good thing.

I allways found the Toyota's and Nissan's more
expensive. I paid $22340 for my Ram Sport and
it's loaded.
I was looking at a Blue SLT Quad Cab 4X4 '05.

MSRP: $35,365
Invoice: $31,227
Suppliers discount: $312.27
My cost: $30914.73
My cost after $1500 rebate: $29414.73
My Titan cost $26,300 includes everything on RAM Plus more standard Towing of 6500# vs 4100#, Bed Extender, 6 CD Premium stereo, Limited Slip on Front axle also, and 5.6L engine.
To add Hemi to RAM would had cost me: $30,281.97
Still less features and then payload is reduced to ~1200#s because Hemi was 150 lbs more than 4.7L.
Hemi dodge would had cost me $30,281.97 back in September when I was buying. Titan cost me $26,300 for more truck. That's $3982 more dollars. Oh Yeh, If I wanted the exact same in a '04, the rebate was a whopping whole "$500" more. So I could had bought an '04 Hemi Ram for $3482 more than my Titan. Granted now, rebates are much better and the '05 could be had for $29,032 with $2750 in rebates. However that's still $2732 more than my Titan.
So I don't feel the Ram is that much better on price, as you do.
Ok.....I thought the Titan was heavier than the Ram. Edmunds rates the Titan 4X4 CC at a curb wt of 5341. Nissan's site does not even list the curb weight.
Edmunds is wrong as were a lot of other websites. They were using a prototype curb weight. The curb weights can be found by subtracting the payload from the GVWR. Nissan's website for the 2004 Titan had the curb weights but that information is now corrupted on the 2005 Titan site.
All Titan's have a GVWR of 6499 lbs according to Nissan's site. I know mine does.
Dodge Hemis and Ford f150 pricing, hmm I wonder if the price out the door (with all the rebates) would be this good for domestics if there was no Nissan-Titan on the market.
Titan came to the market and everybody lowered their prices... so I gues we are the winners, Hemi or Endurance I am happy that we have very good choices, since all 3 trucks are really good (GMC are not)
my .02
The 20" wheels kill the performance of the Hemi's? What's the height of the 20"s? Are they taller then my 18"s?

Cali-Titan - rebates and lower "end of year" prices have been around long before the Titan showed up. It's called getting rid of last years inventory. When I bought my 2002 Ford Super Crew there were $5000 in rebates plus what ever you negotiated from the dealer. I paid $25000 of a 2002 Ford f-150 4x4 SuperCrew with 5.4. That truck stickered close to $33000. I believe Nissan does the same thing at the end of the year with rebates and incentives. If you llok at the real numbers published and surveys taken I don;t think Titan is really taking a significant part of the truck market awya from Detroit - especially when you you spread the sales across the Big 3, and factor in that a great number of the sales are previous Nissan owners replacing another Nissan. Even TitanTalks own poll shows that 60% of the Titan owners surveyed here previously drove a Nissan. The difficulty with the Titan is the inability to really order it the way you want it. Die hard truck enthusiast like to choose engines, rear ends, gears, tow packages, options, options, options. I know when I traded in my Titan I had the choice of probably 10-12 different Ram Hemi configurations. IMHO I think Titan is priced a little cheaper because it's produced a little cheaper. Great engine - but lacking in some other areas. I'm glad we all have choices too. - that way everyone can be happy.
